How do you know you live in gun country? The kids are playing tennis and you suddenly hear tons of gunshots, and none of them even misses a step or a ball.
There is a police shooting range next to the park. They normally don't practice there during "game" hours but since it's spring break, none of the baseball games were going on, so they were practicing at an odd time.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
DS got himself some new sand toys today. It was overcast and cool today so he got some quality time outside. I do wish his hair wasn't such a magnet for sand though. It's a royal pain in the rear to get all the sand out of his hair. You'd think it would just wash out but nope!
DS is quickly outgrowing his car seat we have in our truck. He's almost at the height limit for the seat. We found an Evenflo seat that goes up to 50 inches and we're thinking of getting it. We put DS in the display one and it fits him real well. I figure when the insurance cuts the check (or whatever they do) for the seat that was in my parents' Jeep, we'll just pick up two at the same time. One with the insurance money and one with our money.
I can't believe DS is within the height and weight limits for a regular booster seat. There are at least 3 booster seats at Walmart that he meets the requirements for height and weight. He won't have a booster seat for at least another couple years though.

Oddly, try baby powder to remove the sand. It works great on sandy feet when you get off the beach.
