So, DD12 plays tennis and our courts in the neighborhood just got redone. We've been playing a lot. I have discovered that I really like tennis. My DH couldn't believe it when I told him I never had the opportunity to play as a kid b/c my small town school didn't have a tennis team and tennis wasn't really on the radar in my town. Football and baseball basketball were the only sports anyone paid attention to.
But, I really like it. May have to join one of those old lady tennis leagues.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
I enjoy tennis, too. When I was young, the high school tennis coach would give lessons through the school district in the summer. We did that a few summers, just a week here and there. Then my brother and I would play. In high school, he remembered me (I was friends with his daughter, too), and took his class as an elective PE class. Played doubles. Then in college, his brother taught it at the local community college, so I signed up for that, too. My problem was finding someone to play with. In my early 20's I had a boyfriend who liked to play.
DH plays, too, so we've played with each other throughout the years. We've been taking the boys on occasion, too. They make it interesting. I never thought I'd hear, "wow, so that's what it sounds like with the ball hits the lights." We signed the boys up for tennis camp at the club a couple years ago but it was so darned hot. Scorching hot, in the 100's. I can't put them through that again at their age.
