Why this hairstyle has been so popular for so long?

Seems every guy has to attempt this at some point.
When Aaron started trying to do it, I asked him why he was wearing Trump hair.

Suppose it is just something different and will set the guy aside from all other guys... Teens, especially, are striving to be their own person (even though the peer pressure to be the same is so great..)

His hair was a lot more like that when he was 14 or so. Now, he gets it cut. I don't think it's a big deal. It's just hair. And, let the boys enjoy their hair because eventually it starts falling out. Heck, one of my son's friends who is 20 is already going bald.
That "hairstyle" drives me nuts - it's constantly in their eyes. Girls did it, too, a deep deep part with combover. I'm glad the fad is over, it's one of the dumber looking ones.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
My son did something similar last year. I guess it could have been worse! That picture is bad...
Now he just has long rebellious looking hair. I actually don't mind it so much. He is a cute kid with any hair style.
It's important to let kids be themselves. It's their first step in self management and they need to see success and failure on their own. If you control everything down to their style, you are going to wonder why they don't have the strength to take the reigns as a young adult.
You have to let them do their own thing as much as possible and see yourself as a guide, not a controller. You have to pick your battles carefully! Give them your opinion about what they are doing and tell them why you have that opinion. It has to be more than personal preference, there has to be a reason that you find their decision to be a bad one. As in, something negative will happen as a result of what they are doing.
I remember being that age and being really hurt when my mom would criticize my clothes or hair. I was pretty mellow too. I just wanted to put glitter eye make up on and I wanted pink highlights in my hair. She would turn into a shrieking wreck about it and get my dad involved. "Brad, tell her she looks ridiculous!!!" "I'm never taking you anywhere with me again with that hair and makeup!"
She was wound pretty tight back in the day. She is a much more tolerant and loving person now with her grand kids ;) Of course. She is/was a fantastic mom too. Some of her mistakes have taught me how to be a better mom for my kids.
I got off on kind of a tangent there! Haha!
That is odd hair and it has lasted far longer than one would think. Back on topic :)

Yes. I remember her doing it.
I would ask her if she had a head injury she was trying to cover.
Thankfully she stopped doing it soon.

I'm not a strict person when it comes to hair or style. If any one has seen my kids pictures, they will see they have plenty of their own style.
If I see they have toilet paper stuck to their shoe, I say something.
Don't think speaking up about a bad hairstyle is any different.

A girl my brother was dating had a mustache tattooed on her hip... The whole thing is weird. I've asked everybody who has a mustache purse or ring or even a tattoo what it's all about and the only answer I've gotten is "Cuz it's cute!" Or "I mustache you a question"
I just don't know what's going on.

I think the mustache thing is an evolution of the bull horns.
