It's been really cold today so mom hasn't really left them. I got this one as I was going to get my boys. The sun was just about directly on them and mom was getting food.

I'm thinking the other two are not going hatch.

I hope they don't break when she rolls them out. She can't get it out of the basket.

 Yeah. But everything I've read said that once mom is brooding, they all develop at the same basic rate.

Still, the two that hatched, did so a day or two ahead of average.

The out side of average is 16 days. 

All I know is, none of us want to clean up a busted, possibly fertilized egg.

A robin has nested in my front door wreath again this year. Five eggs so far. Last year the crows ate them. I'm hoping they make it this year.

Mom and dad are getting increasingly protective of them. We just watched mom run a squirrel off the carport, across the yard and up a tree.

She didn't like my taking this picture, either.

 

No, Trudy, I won't mess with the eggs. 

It's kind of cool having them as a reference for size.
