I keep hoping that a yellow lab named Oakly will be found somewhere in the seattle washington area. He was a dog that a 'friend' was watching while the owner was away on deployment. When the owner came home from deployment, he found out the "friend" sold him on craigs list.

Cheerios, I know on the service this looks bad, and perhaps the friend was a jerk.  But working in the military arena I've seen this happen.  Many times it is because the owner doesn't leave contact info for a "Plan B" to care for the dog or financial means if the dog gets sick, hurt, or needs to be bordered because the caretaker has had a life change.  Maybe he emailed the service member, perhaps even the commanding officer and heard nothing.  Please don't trash people without the details.
