Which means in NC, Target cannot have their way. Are they going to close their NC stores?
Target is taking a stand against North Carolina’s transphobic bathroom bill, saying its customers and employees can use the bathroom that matches their gender identity.
Get it?
And because of that, most of the Targets here will be closed within a couple of months...
You wish. I doubt it, although many Target Stores have already been struggling and closed. Not do to this situation.
I've yet to hear of one closing because of struggling. In my town alone, over 300 have been laid off...and the hours have changed. The lot is empty...
Officials in North Carolina's hospitality industry say the state's new law affecting transgender people is damaging the state's tourism business, as both individuals and large groups cancel trips in protest over the legislation widely condemned for eroding LGBT rights. *** At this point, the visitors authority estimates that damage could amount to approximately $84 million US in the city of Charlotte alone, based on potentially lost spending from 36 events whose organizers have expressed concern about the law. The largest of those at-risk events, said Gina Sheridan, chief marketing and communications officer for the visitors authority, is the 2017 NBA all-star game. NBA commissioner Adam Silver has publicly called on North Carolina to change the law if it wants the event to stay in Charlotte next February.

Do you even READ? The news story I heard was talking about TARGET stores being hurt. This is the OPPOSITE.

Now now...that is NOT what you said:
DH usually watches the CBS morning news. They had a report on Target & the woman executive (not from Target, one of their go-to business people) said that an economic boycott has not worked since the 60's.
Whatever business Target loses will be balanced by those who support them...just like Chik-Fil-A.

Ummm, you don't get to apply such statements just to what you WANT. LOL.
I'll just email the speaker and ask her to clarify.

Hey, you're the one that posted it. I took you at your word. Either an economic boycott will not hurt ("hasn't since the 60s"), or it will hurt (NC). Which is it?

Same question to you.
Wasn't it in the Springsteen thread that you said they won't hurt, because it will just all blow over in a couple of months? So, which is it? Will a boycott work or won't it?
Personally, I don't think a boycott will hurt in the long run for either Target OR North Carolina. That doesn't mean it's bad or wrong to stand up for what you believe in though.

What try? You admitted you can't be trusted. That your word means nothing.
I agree.

I have never seen a boycott work. Probably because they haven't really since the civil rights era.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
I agree.
Of course, a lot will depend on how much the boycotting people actually shopped at Target before. It's easy to boycott a place that you never go to. Boycotting Target will require a big change in my routine.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

I agree.
I told you what you wanted to hear.

Have the pervert claiming to be a transgender looking under the stall door at your daughter. Which of those scenarios has more potential for harm? Especially because your daughter would never look under the stall door in the first place.

Isn't that exactly what the transgendered person is doing? They are the ones who claimed the "discomfort". Yet, you mock our children's discomfort but for some reason their discomfort trumps everyone else.
But, of course Apple you are missing the point. Nobody is afraid of Caitlyn Jenner or the transgendered. The issue isn't them pooping on the toilet but the opportunity it gives for the nefarious to use this as an excuse to be somewhere they don't belong. But, whatever, deflect, deflect, deflect.
One more time. The transgendered are not the problem. It is the perverts claiming to be transgendered I order to get access to the ladies room. Get it? Good gravy

The "problem" is that Republican State officials passed a law saying transgenders had to use the washroom that aligns with the sex listed on their birth certificate.

The "problem" is that Republican State officials passed a law saying transgenders had to use the washroom that aligns with the sex listed on their birth certificate.
That is what started this whole "problem".
They can get their birth certificate changed to reflect their chosen gender. They cannot change their sex as that is biological. They would have to change their DNA in order to change their sex.
