Cats are creatures of habit. They don't like change.
We already had 5 cats with us. All around the same age, except for Maria, who is a couple of years older than the rest of the gang, when we found Spock, and 10 days later, her brother, Captain Kirk.
We found a wonderful home for Kirk. But, no takers on Spock. So, we kept her.
It was hell, getting Jack, Jazz, Dusty, Huey and Maria...to put up with Spock.
As cute as Scully is, we can't be her forever home.

It wouldn't be fair to the rest of our cats.
I get it.
I'm sure you'll find her a good home.
That being said, not all cats are creatures of habit. When I got Sushi the Destroyer, he settled in immediately.

"This is where I live now? Cool! Got any noms?"
I'm glad that Sushi the Destroyer, settled right in. Yay!
My next question is, did you have any other cats living with you?
I'm guessing, probably not.
It's not easy, taking on a kitten, when you already have several cats in the house.
When I adopted Maggie she & Dez bonded quickly but he is male & was also still only about 4 yo. He is also a really laid back cat. Onyx my old lady accepted Dez but they just sort of ignore each other. They will both sleep on my bed but at opposite ends, never snuggling. Onyx barely tolerates Maggie & Mags just gives Onyx her space & stays in the hallway outside the bedroom. I assume respecting that is her room.
It is hard integrating.
FWM I'm sure Scully will find a happy home soon & yours will go back to normal.
Welts, I doubt given Sushi's big personality he would be happy with an interloper in his home. I know years ago when I had Winston I got a female kitten & had to return her within days because I was afraid he would kill her when I turned away for a minute.
Shoot Maggie & Dez both fight with Bitey when he shows up out front. They all three got into a nasty one Friday night. I still have fur on my porch even after all the rain.

It's not easy, that's for sure, Lexxy.
It works best, when they all join the same household, fairly quickly.
Jack and Jazz, a brother and sister, from an unwanted litter that we adopted from the Humane Society, came home with us the same day, at 12 weeks old. That was in April, 2009. ( I think.)
In June, Wayne found Dusty at the plant. She was probably 6 weeks old at the time.
Jack and Jazz hazed her a little bit. But, they made friends with her. Yee haw!.
In September of that same year, Maria showed up at the Sales Office/Warehouse. Pregnant.
Maria had her kittens in an empty office, and we made it as comfy as possible. Huey and his sisters were born in October.
We found nice homes for Huey's sisters. But, no one wanted him.
So, we kept Huey....and got his Mom fixed...and brought Maria home, too.
Wayne found another little kitty, with a broken tail. We named her Kinky...her tail had a kink.
We found a nice lady, who adopted her.
Huey played Nanny cat to Kinky.
He was sad, when she went to her new home.
And, the drama with Spock. And Captain Kirk.
We found a great home for Kirk.
And, we still have Spock.
We are out of space, to make all of the cats comfortable.
As much as we all love Scully...she will have to go to a new home.
A place where she will be spoiled to death. And not have so much competition for attention.
Know what I mean?

Wow FWM you went from a no cat home to a multi cat home quickly. Mine usually came every few years or so.
Except Squirrel who was preggers & we didn't know. At that time I only had the afor mentioned Winston & in his older age he accepted her. Then he actually sat vigil over the 6 kittens. We found homes for all except Hammy that I wanted to keep. Then poor Schmoopy was returned 3 times not because of her own actions but because people are idiots. So we kept her too.

Lexxy, we moved to Texas with our first cat, Stanislawa.
Stani died, at the ripe old age of almost 16.
We took a 2 year break, before I got suckered into adopting Jack and Jazz.
It just snowballed, from there.
(I should just beat my head against a wall! )
Good grief...and I'm an accidental dog owner, to boot!

This is why DH and I have decided not to look for a new dog. We figure one that needs a home will drop into our lap.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Big personality is an understatement.
He's learned how to unlatch the front door.
He's always yelling at everybody to get off his lawn.
He talks with his hands a lot. He tries to slap the makeup out of my hands because it means I'm going out.
I end up with a swath of eyeliner from my eye to my jawbone.
He's constantly pawing at me. "Smack! Is that asparagus? I smell asparagus! Smack! It's rude not to share!"
Sometimes, I wonder if I have a cat or a little old Italian man in a fur coat.
LOL, I don't think I'd want Sushi as my cat but I'd sure like to be a fly on the wall at your house.
I'd love to see him in action! Sushi sounds like a real trip!
And a handful! I've had the eyeliner across my face or poking me in the eye Onyx sometimes like to help. But she head butts instead of trying to knock it out of my hand.
I'll post some new pictures when I get back from taking Jessi to work.
Scully found some Greenies on the cat shelf. She was trying to eat them. But, they seemed kind of big.
So, I put out some of her kitten kibble, and she's giving that a try! (Up to now, it's just been canned food and formula. This is her first time eating dry food.)
She's a stinker! Here she is climbing up my leg. Which isn't so bad if I'm wearing jeans. With shorts, not so much. I'm covered in little bleeding scratches!
