My Bible study did a spa day at which we made our own scrubs and such. I don't use that stuff so it was my Mother's Day presents. I've already given people their gifts since the scrubs are only good for about 2 weeks.

A jar filled with "coupons"
totally vacuum the house
scrub the kitchen floors (scrub brush, sponge, rinse with clear water)
rake the front lawn
a Sunday brunch (OTHER than Mother's Day!)

all sorts of "coupons", redeemable at her time schedule.

A mani-pedi would be really nice. As would a concrete bench for the front garden.

I had a mug made for my mother with all the grandkids pictures on it, and I don't know where I put it. I want to send it with some really good coffee - my mother loves coffee more than Czech, I think.

My MIL is getting some books she requested.

Now I would like this   but that's just me !!  I think I am getting some new straps to tie Lola (My heritage softtail) into the enclosed trailer better

Each to their own.  I am not sure what my kids will do, but I always enjoy whatever it is

My mom passed away 19 years ago, and for the first couple of years I really struggled with Mother's Day, I had a hard time celebrating being a mom, when I just felt the huge empty spot in my life where my mom always was.  I just felt like a motherless daughter.

Then I realized she would not be happy with me at all for not allowing her grandbabies celebrate and spoil me like I always did her.  So we started a tradition where we got pale pink and white balloons, one for each of my kids and myself and they wrote a special message on them (I wrote for them when they were too young to write) and we sent them up to Heaven.  It helped me and them grieve and while I will never get over losing her, I have just learned how to get through.  It is not easier, it is just not as hard.

I have been blessed with five darn awesome kids who are all great adults!! that I not only love, I truly like!

I do something for my parents on the different days.

They do so much for me, I can't let it pass. I owe them too much.

Not sure what I will get Mom. Perhaps a GC to a local restaurant. DS called DD the other day so I'm sure they are conspiring. Hope it's a massage!

I don't usually buy my mother anything, we all go out to the club for brunch. But I saw these custom silverware pieces a woman does and I had a serving spoon made up that said, "Grandma of Twins" I thought I'd give to her. I bought it for Christmas, but forgot to give it to her and ran across it recently.

I received two cards in the mail today. They are from DS. He sent one from him and one from DD, he called her the other day and they were scheming. I won't open them until Mother's day. I think I will invite Mom up for the w/e.

Now, to lighten the mood..

Don't forget to pick up a bottle of wine for your mom for Mother's day. After all, you are the reason she drinks.

Now smile, darn it!

I think it's prob the same here. I wonder if my parents will be back from Europe. If not, then all she's getting is a mothers day text message.

We had a resident duck up at the lake. Her feet got tangled up in balloon string, and we couldn't catch her to release the string. She could still fly. It cut off the circulation and her feet turned necrotic and finally fell off. She could no longer dive, and slowly starved to death. It was heartbreaking to watch. Her 11 ducklings also didn't make it without their mama.
One balloon string = 12 deaths.

My mom has a giant urn next to her walkway. Every year I buy her a large hanging basket with the trailing flowers to fill it. She expects it every year so if I ever changed up I think she'd be disappointed. We are having a light brunch at her house. An easy no cook meal. Chicken salad on croissants with fruit salad all prepared at Costco.

I KNOW what it's like to lose a parent. I know what it's like to lose BOTH parents. I know what it's like to feel like an orphan and I know what it's like to miss them every day.

That being said, I merely asked you not to release balloons which kill animals and marine life.
