 Are you really that ignorant of history that you don't understand why the Founding Fathers made this of importance?  Wow.  

 Are you (general you) ignorant of the fact that the colonies had just fought a WAR to gain their independence? Of course, the Second Amendment was a priority for them.

 You think that can't happen again?  Look at history--he!!, look at the world NOW.  There are literally HUNDREDS of examples of people having to fight for their freedom.  

If you think the U.S. and our form of government is going to last forever--I have some oceanfront property in Colorado you might be interested in. 

The Founding Fathers weren't just thinking about what JUST happened--they were planning for what COULD happen.
