What do you buy that might seem odd to someone else?  Right now i am eyeing up a 5 DVD set "All Access Basketball Practice with Coach Geno Auriemma" for $120.  He is the coach of UConn, the most amazing womens' basketball team ever!  I want to learn from the Master.

What odd things have you purchased or are considering?

I'll have to think about this.

What about odd quantities? I just bought 5 bottles of the same salad dressing. For some reason, they tend to discontinue (either at the store or manufacturer level) what I like shortly after I find it. So when I find a different one that I like, I go back and but several.

2 summers ago I bought Gus.

Gus is a sparkly, 3D, metal, 3 ft tall flamingo wearing a Hawaiian shirt, lei, straw hat and sunglasses.

Gus makes me smile every time I see him.

When DH and I were in Vegas, we stayed in the Flamingo. They have a giant flamingo outside of the doors between the Flamingo and the LINQ. I thought of you when I saw it.

Spoiler

 Look at him!

I'd put him in the back yard so he could look over the house.

Bet the whole neighborhood would look better!

I'm not sure if this is considered an odd thing or not but I like collecting flattened pennies as souvenirs.

Odd things we do?

I like prefer just about everything frozen.

Cakes, pies, fruit, candy.

They're so cool! I have a penny passport that I keep them in. I expanded my collection on DH's and my trip. I also love that it's only 51 cents per penny. Price is right!

I don't like spending money on souvenirs. There's rarely anything I want and a lot of it is overpriced and chintzy.

This is how I have been able to get a souvenir for each kid every where we've gone.

It works! DS loves money so I might be able to turn him onto the flattened pennies. Hopefully he doesn't get a want for the overpriced crap.

He and I both like the glow stuff though so we buy one thing and share it.
