But thanks for ignoring the valid concerns of parents.

Same policy as always. I guess people didn't care enough to check before.

Policy has not changed...you have.

 I don't get this.

If you become aware of something you don't agree with, can you not change your opinion?

It is respect to Targets washroom suddenly becoming dangerous to our children when in fact, nothing has changed. The policy was always in place.

If parents are so concerned why didn't they check out the policy before? AND...for goodness sake don't expect ANY store to look after your children, go in the washroom with them...they have family washrooms.

Its all about jumping on the hate bandwagon started up by a certain NC governor.

 No.

I don't think so.

I wasn't aware of the stores policy prior to this.

Granted, there isn't a Target in my area, but I would assume that men went in one and women went in the other bathroom.

Now that I am aware of the policy, I wouldnt shop there if there was one here.

It wasn't terribly long ago, we had a thread about mom's bringing their sons into the women's bathroom.

There were a lot of talk about how boys over a certain age shouldn't be in the women's bathroom.

But, now we are to shut up and accept a 40 year old man in the women's bathroom?

Police are searching for a ‘peeping tom’ who used his cell phone to record video of an underage girl inside a Frisco Target dressing room.

Investigators say the suspect put his cell phone over the wall of a female changing room and shot video of the girl.

The incident happened at the Target store on Preston Road Tuesday night around 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

'Peeping Tom' records underage girl changing at Frisco Target

The boy took off after the girl noticed the camera while changing clothes, according to police. She told her parent who told an employee. But by that time, the suspect was gone.

“With the phones where you can do anything you want, it's kinda scary,” said parent Melonie Arbet.

Police were able to capture the suspect on store surveillance and want the public's help identifying him.

Melissa Tollinger says parents who give their kids phones also need to teach the right way to use them.

"They don't realize the ramifications of sending one text,” said Tollinger. “Once it's out there, it's out there. Taking a picture and doing a snapchat or whatever. I think they're too young to realize the implications of it"

“You never know who's watching,” said parent Katie Lizotte. “And once on the net, it stays there forever."

No, I'm not. They have made a choice that the safety of women and children does not matter, so I'm choosing not to shop there.

When did they make this announcement? The one I heard was along the lines of "At Target stores, if you identify as female you may use the female restrooms, if you identify as male you may use the male restrooms".

I never heard or saw a press release even close to to saying "the safety of women and children does not matter to us at Target".

You must not have read all of the thread. evileye

Being a male, you may not understand how women, in general, feel about men being in a public bathroom with them and/or their little daughters.

You may be ignoring the fact that perv's will use the policy to their advantage. I do not want MY dd, dgd, to be a victim of the perv, so I'm not taking the risk, period. And, apparently, neither are a lot of other women.

I could scan & post my receipt, but why?

Isn't it "nap" time yet?

I went to the Super Target, but forgot to get Advil. The price on Powerade zero wasn't great (that's for DH), so I passed. They did have gelato on sale, so I bought 2 pints. I also needed nail files & foil.

I wasn't asking when the comment was made on the thread though. I was asking when did Target make a press release saying "the safety of women and children does not matter to us at Target". I have seen no such press release from them.

While you are right that as a male I don't know how women feel, I'd be willing to bet that you, as a woman, don't know how a trans-female (biologically male) dressed as, and identifying as, a woman feels about being in the Men's Room where they could get beaten or even killed (especially in some places in the deep South).

I'm not ignoring that pervs will be pervs. Arrest and charge them for their perving when that happens, but let people that need to pee, pee.

If God didn't want them being female brained in male bodies, He wouldn't have created them that way. God loves diversity, that's why no two people are alike.

You do like to point out the obvious. You're not a doctor either but you act like your opinion is somehow more credible than anyone elses. If a man thought he was a rabbit you'd say it was mental illness but if he thinks he's a woman it's just normal.

I don't have to be a doctor.

Basic, actual science. You know. That thing your kind like to say you rely on but really only when it suits your opinion at the time.

It is beyond rare that there is a genetic mutation that has both male and female markers.

But I know it's really hard to grasp facts when your hands are so full with trying to juggle all the offenses of your day.

 Like this?

"Scientists have studied the brains of transgendered people and this is what they've learned: Transgendered people who've moved from male to female have female brains. When we've been able to scan their brains, or study them after death, the brains of male to female persons have female brain characteristics."

Or this?

"From the day they were born, transgendered people have been moving toward their brain types. Because of their brain's exposure, or lack of exposure, to certain hormones during fetal development, their outward gender is inconsistent with their inward gender."

Nice quotes but did you make that up yourself? I can quote plenty of doctors who disagree with those statements but I've been told your doctors know more than my doctors. There is NO consensus on what's actually happening in a transgenders brain but continue on like you know more than anyone else about everything...lol

 Soooo..... medication induced changes.

That's what that is. It isn't a natural progression.

And if they stop taking the daily medication, their body, their brain, will go right back to the pre medicated brain.

Do I have a medical degree? No. But I do have a front row seat to this and I have asked every question imaginable. This is information from a doctor who treats transgender patients.

Mental illness, birth defect, whatever it is - it should be characterized as nothing more than a disability. And disabilities only require reasonable accommodation where possible - which would equal a unisex bathroom option.

Ok.

We've gone from never speaking of any intimate acts to having everything on tv, billboards and magazines.

At one point, being gay was a crime. Now it's mainstream.

And now people are choosing what sex they are.

What's next?

Where does it stop?

At one point, Blacks were considered property.
At one point, alcohol was outlawed.
At one point, women could not vote.

And sexually explicit writings have been around for centuries...the Kama Sutra, anyone?

The Kama Sutra (Sanskrit: कामसूत्र About this sound pronunciation (help·info), Kāmasūtra) is an ancient Indian Hindu[1][2] text widely considered to be the standard work on human sexual behavior in Sanskrit literature written by Vātsyāyana. A portion of the work consists of practical advice on sexual intercourse.[3] It is largely in prose, with many inserted anustubh poetry verses. "Kāma" which is one of the four goals of Hindu life, means desire including sexual desire the latter being the subject of the textbook, and "sūtra" literally means a thread or line that holds things together, and more metaphorically refers to an aphorism (or line, rule, formula), or a collection of such aphorisms in the form of a manual. Contrary to popular perception, especially in the western world, Kama sutra is not exclusively a sex manual; it presents itself as a guide to a virtuous and gracious living that discusses the nature of love, family life and other aspects pertaining to pleasure oriented faculties of human life.[4][5] Kama Sutra, in parts of the world, is presumed or depicted as a synonym for creative sexual positions; in reality, only 20% of Kama Sutra is about sexual positions. The majority of the book, notes Jacob Levy,[6] is about the philosophy and theory of love, what triggers desire, what sustains it, how and when it is good or bad.[7]

Historians attribute Kamasutra to be composed between 400 BCE and 200 CE

No one is saying transgenders are property. No one is saying to make it illegal to be transgender. No one is saying take away their right to vote. The Kama Sutra has nothing to do with this discussion. It's like a little red herring. Answer one simple question. Why is a transgenders feelings of discomfort more important the a childs? I know you won't answer it but it's been asked so many times and has yet to be answered.

The "red herring" is the very idea that children are now more so at rick of being "uncomfortable" than they were a few weeks or months ago. The washroom policy has not changed, what has changed is the hysteria of people using their childrens sudden perceived discomfort as a tool to discriminate.

No, what happened is that people suddenly decided privacy doesn't matter and that anatomical boys have the right to change, use the bathroom, and shower with girls regardless of how the girls feel about it.

Just typing that out boggles the mind.

Blacks are no longer property.  They shouldn't have been in the first place. Their freedom makes the world better.

Alcohol is still illegal in some places and on some days. Restrictions can be prudent.

Women grained the right to vote and also make a positive difference in this world.

Yes, there have been erotic and sexual writings, paintings and dipictions since the first curious stirring in the genitals.

On other threads, the argument that something has been happening for a long time should mean we make it legal and embrace it.

And I ask, how far should we go with that?

You did not answer the question. You attempted to deflect.

So I ask again.

What else has been going on for years that we should make legal and mainstream it and embrace?

What?
