I want bacon every meal.

I want a two week trip to Disney with my kids.

And I want to go to a drive in movie, in Baby, with Jensen and Jared and then go to Jared bar for whiskey and bacon cheeseburgers.

Oh. And most importantly, every year on the anniversary of my death, you all have to wear a flamingo of some kind in my honor.

Done!!!!! And I'm not kidding!  Lol!

Do I wear this flamingo around my neck or have it perched on my arm, like they do in falconry?

What do I feed it? Shrimp? Fresh or frozen?

If you attempt suicide, you are considered dangerous and unstable and put into a psych hold.

So how is wanting to die not unstable?

Now. I don't have a psych degree, but I can not rationalize how one is competent but the other is not.

I mean, water is wet.

So, if someone is suffering excruciating pain due to MS or cancer, and wants to die, they're unstable?

It's more stable to want to prolong the misery and pain?

Some subscribe to the Mother Teresa School Of Thought......

“Pain and suffering have come into your life, but remember pain, sorrow, suffering are but the kiss of Jesus - a sign that you have come so close to Him that He can kiss you".

Screw that. Go kiss somebody else. I prefer not to suffer.

It's a moral issue, (so you wouldn't understand), and thankfully, we still have some morals in this country.

Somebody should have fought for her when she wasn't strong enough to fight for herself. :( She was only in her 20s this could have been turned around. She had so much life ahead of her and it could have been fixed.

I've seen people suffer from depression and suicide will make sense to them, it's a symptom of the disease! You are supposed to treat it! Not tell them to give up and go with the flow of their ailment!

I hope to god if there is anybody reading this story that has been contemplating suicide that this doesn't make you think it's the way to go. Don't let anybody talk you into it. It's the wrong choice!

You need and deserve help to overcome those thoughts.

Anybody who encourages or assist in a depressed person committing suicide should be charged with attempted murder or, if successful in causing the death, murder! Straight up!

There is no magic pill or miracle cure for the types of issues this woman was facing. She was bed ridden and her quality of life was horrid.

Given that a panel of medical experts agreed on her diagnosis, how does one completely ignore this?

That's very moral, indeed. Force people to suffer for as long as possible.

It's true.

Sometimes, she wasn't a very nice person. She built hospitals with no medicines to ease pain, because suffering was good for the soul.

She encouraged poor women to have more children. Women who couldn't feed the children they already had.

‘The sick must suffer like Christ on the cross’

At the time of her death, Mother Teresa had opened 517 missions welcoming the poor and sick in more than 100 countries. The missions have been described as “homes for the dying” by doctors visiting several of these establishments in Calcutta. Two-thirds of the people coming to these missions hoped to a find a doctor to treat them, while the other third lay dying without receiving appropriate care. The doctors observed a significant lack of hygiene, even unfit conditions, as well as a shortage of actual care, inadequate food, and no painkillers. The problem is not a lack of money—the Foundation created by Mother Teresa has raised hundreds of millions of dollars—but rather a particular conception of suffering and death: “There is something beautiful in seeing the poor accept their lot, to suffer it like Christ’s Passion. The world gains much from their suffering,” was her reply to criticism, cites the journalist Christopher Hitchens. Nevertheless, when Mother Teresa required palliative care, she received it in a modern American hospital.

I'll admit, I'm a bit torn when it comes to terminally ill. Those who have done everything and nothing worked and it's just a matter of time.

I watched my pawpaw go from vibrant and active to dead in less than 4 months.

I saw the pain he was in. The effects of the pain maintenance drugs that did nothing for the pain but caused him to have extreme delusions and become violent or rendered him unconscious for 18 hours straight.

I watched him waste away to an empty shell.

But through it all, he fought. When you asked him if he wanted something for pain he would say no. Not until it was beyond his ability to deal with it.

I was torn and wanted his pain over.

But he'd smile and say "gotta keep fighting".

But this is not a person in end stages of a terminal disease. This woman was actually improving. She was making progress. And she just gave up.

I won't lie. It pisses me off when someone throws away life. Especially when I have seen people fight to their last breath for just ONE more second.

No. This woman did NOT have a RIGHT to die.

She had a right to live.

And ANYONE who advocates for the ability to throw life away is simply scum.

This woman could have been just fine if she hadn't been so weak.

FIGHT for life. Don't throw it away.

 IT'S NOT YOUR LIFE!

Who are you to demand people fight for it? Do what's right FOR YOU. You want to fight, then fight.

You have no right to demand others do the same, especially when faced with horrific pain.

Did we read the same OP?

If you attempt suicide, you are considered dangerous and unstable and put into a psych hold.

So how is wanting to die not unstable?

Now. I don't have a psych degree, but I can not rationalize how one is competent but the other is not.

I mean, water is wet.

So, if someone is suffering excruciating pain due to MS or cancer, and wants to die, they're unstable?

It's more stable to want to prolong the misery and pain?

It's a moral issue, (so you wouldn't understand), and thankfully, we still have some morals in this country.

A moral issue? Whose morals? You wish to prolong a terminal patients agony against their will....what morals are these you speak of?

This was not a terminal patient.

She was physically healthy.

Mental suffering doesn't count? What about quality of life?

Nope.  That can be cured...

 So just give up?

Selfish, weak mindedness.

Not surprising coming from you.

Physically healthy? She was too weak to get out of bed.

She was getting BETTER.  And no, you don't just give in to suicidal tendencies.  That's absurd.

Or, maybe we should.  We can get rid of lots of mentally ill people that way.  Much easier than TREATING them.  evileye

Her own doctors said she was showing improvement.

But hey, not fast enough.

Just throw her away.

So should people with Cerebral Palsy be put down because they don't have a great quality if life? What about the kid with Down Syndrome? Or my friend that was in a car accident and can no longer speak or walk, and has the mentality of a 2 year old now. Should we just put him down too?

Again, do what's right for you and I'll do what's right for me.

Busybody Christians, wanting EVERYONE to suffer, because they think it's the right thing to do.

Not your body, not your suffering, not your pain and most certainly not your business.

There will probably come a time that I will be bed ridden.

I hope to GOD no one wants to "help" me like they helped this girl.
