I like it, too. Something along this line.

Not showing too much skin.

It would look nice on a tall frame...with not a whole lot on top.

Know what I mean, Geek gals?

This beautiful, simple in a way but elegant without being showy.  Good for all figures I think.  This is it.  Go get it!

Unless you are very slender, stay away from the jackets, the scarves like the one above are good but the jackets on the wrong body look matronly. blech

Well, hell.

At 5'8"....size 10 or 12, maybe?

Should I just throw in the towel?

Gosh, I hate to shop. This is getting more depressing by the moment.cry

 That's just awful.

It looks like a prom dress from the 70s or a nightgown.

The basic line of the dress, would work.

Not too low cut.

Upper arms are covered.

I'm not wild about the color.

But, that's a nice dress.smile

I liked it, too.  But it would be much better in a different color.

That's peach. The link takes you to it. It comes in 4 or 5 colors

The red caught my eye.

It looks like an easy to wear dress. No bunching or restricted movements. And forgiving.

Oh red would look good on FWM!

Woman, make the decision. Choose it, get it in your size and buy some strappy sandals!

Make sure they can do any needed alterations - with a promised-by date a couple of days before the wedding!

Shopping for shoes and purse will probably happen tomorrow.

I've been up with Scully, since 4:30 am.

I took Jessi for her final fitting on her wedding dress at 9, and dropped her off to meet Conor at the caterer, for final details, at 10:45.

Came home, and headed to the mall.

I'm beat. Enough for one day, for me.wink

Oh, and the color that shows up in the link, isn't even close.

It's darker, in real life.

I'll get a picture, but, not today.biggrin

Thank you, Geek gals!

It's simple. Not too flashy or frilly.

And, not too matronly. Or, too young. IMHO.

I think it will work!smile

Flowers:
Corsage? Wristlet?
If a corsage, see if you can get a magnetic closure, rather than corsage pins. Much more secure, and no chance of getting stuck!
If a wristlet, make sure it is adjustable . You don't want it to become uncomfortable half way through the reception.

Ask the florist if there is any way they can tuck a couple of tiny sprigs of ivy in your flowers (the very end of the vine). When you get home, remove the ivy and put the stem end in a glass of water. Tend it carefully for a couple of weeks, and you should see tiny roots emerging. When you think it is ready, transplant it into a nice decorative pot, and let it grow. On April 28, 2017, give it to the newlyweds - a living memento of their wedding! (BTW, ivy stands for constancy)

Thanks Lexxy and Blankie.

It's a good color for me, I think.

Now that that's over with, can I rant a little bit?

The thing that shocked me most, about trying on dresses was, the number of dresses that I had to walk away from...because some dumb bitch had gotten make up all over it.furious

Some people are unbelievable.cry

When I tried things on in Japan, they handed me a disposal "hood" to put over my head to prevent make-up from getting on the clothes while pulling them over my head.

I too have seen makeup on clothes. It is really sad. I needed something for NYE long ago when I still did dress up parties. I found this beautiful black sheathy thing. It ended up I couldn't wear it because I could not get the perfume out of it. I think someone wore it to a holiday party & returned. She either doused herself in perfume or did it to cover up other party smells when she returned it.
