OK, Dh has been looking for a new car. And, we were planning to buy a used car, no trade in with money down. Anyway, he found a used Honda Pilot 2015 and drove down to check it out. He likes it and we are considering buying it. We want to finance it because i don't mind financing a car and my son starts college next year and would rather free up cash for that. DH wants to know what interest rate they can give us and he said run a credit check and we will put X down. The lady salesman says she can't tell us the interest rate until we have agreed to buy the car. I said we can't agree to buy the car if we don't know what it is really going to cost us to buy the car. So, an impasse. DH just called and is heading home. She wasted our time. Also, they have some 'extended warranty" that is included and the work can only be done there. We said we dont' want and extended warranty and we have a Honda dealer that is local where we would service this car that is STILL under warranty. What do you think?
Well, we were up at 445 am for a basketball game. We are crazy busy right now. He drove 2 hours to look at this car. He took the checkbook. If he liked it and we liked the terms, he would have bought it.
Have you gone to your bank or credit union? Get prequalified for the loan through them then you don't have to fuzt with the used car dealership finance dance.
That sounds super shady. They should be able to give you terms before you agree to buy the car! I hate places that do business like this and wouldn't buy a car there if they gave it to me for free.

You have a local Honda dealer, go to them. They can get the car for you.
Dealers do it all the time.
