I doubt if anyone is going to take a ruler and measure--but if you are standing with your heel flat on the floor, then it's obviously not "high".

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.

Of course requiring women to wear high heels is sexist. Why deny it? High heels are meant to emphasize the female body. And it hurts to wear them all day. This can't be compared to making men wear ties. 1) Ties don't accentuate the male body, and 2) It doesn't hurt to wear a tie. Come on people,it's ok to admit that something is sexist when it really is. And this is coming from someone who believes that modern feminism has done a lot more harm than good.

 Thank you.

I have never worn heels to work. Ever and I've always worked in an office. Its never been mentioned. Dress codes that I have seen are pretty gender neutral. No shorts, no B.O. no torn clothing....

I've worked in an office since i was 19. Same, here Bonny. Dresses, skirts, or slacks. Jeans on Friday. No holes.
But times have changed. Now i wear yoga pants and hoodies. And i have to wear flip flops now, but they wouldnt care even if i didnt have to.
But I dont deal with the public...

When I managed the local Goodwill store, we had a dress code.

We did not have to wear heels but we had to dress shoes. The "flats" had a 1 inch rise.

My new co-worker asked me if she could wear yoga pants on Friday since its more casual.  I told her if you have to ask if its ok then you shouldn't.  Casual here on Friday means band t-shirts and sneakers instead of nice tops, jeans and cute shoes (flats included)
