Tomorrow is Jesse's senior awards day in the morning.

Tomorrow evening is my Nephew's graduation.

Then they, my brother and his two kids, are coming back here for the weekend.

So will probably grill out Saturday.

Sunday, I hope will be quiet.

Sitting on my duff recovering from a busy week.
Church.
Probably a meal out.
Shopping for a new car seat ... with a blank check!
Attempt to finish getting our bedroom organized again.

I am going to spend as much time attached to the hip to G as I can be. He leaves for his Canada trip on Monday and I won't see him for 2, maybe 3 weeks.

Thanks! We're going to dinner. Not sure where yet. We usually go someplace fancy on the weekend of. And on the actual day, we take the boys to Italian. This year it's on Saturday. So we decided to go someplace fancy and take the boys. They're not feeling it and would rather spend the evening with grandma & papa.

What are you going to get? Are you doing rear facing still or did you/are you switching to a forward facing one?

I don't know why, but I love looking at all the different car seats. I follow car seat pages on facebook and I am always reading all their comparisons, lol.

I was so happy to lose the car seats. So much more room without them.

But we did use booster seats for a long time.

Century had a 5 point restraint car seat that later became a booster the car seat belt worked with. The kids loved them.

I don't know yet. I recently read about a seat that has cooling technology in it and that will come in handy during summers here so we might get that one if we can find it. He's tall for his age (almost 36 inches) and it's hard to find a seat that his head isn't at or above the top. We found an Evenflo seat we liked but since I was told to shop around and buy whatever I want no matter the price, I will do just that. He's tall and heavy enough for some booster seats but not old enough.

He's forward facing. My truck doesn't have a/c in the back and it's just too hot for him to have sun beating through the back window on his face. We tried putting a shade up on the window to keep the sun off him but it didn't stay put. So he went forward facing last summer when he was about 1.5. We keep the center a/c vents facing him and he gets a fan in the back to help circulate the cool air. Lil dude rides in style!

The seat part of my back seat is narrow so I'm looking for a seat with a fairly narrow base back to front. Side to side doesn't much matter as it's rare when anyone but DS is in the back seat but I would like a seat that isn't too bulky. He likes having his own cup holders so the new seat must have those. It also must be convertible into a booster seat. I noticed that the age guideline on the booster seats is age 4 and he'll be there in a year and a half. He sits real good in his seat so I'm sure he'll transition to a booster easily. I really, really want that cooling technology though. I'm sure he'll enjoy not burning his bum when he gets in his seat.

Take him when buying. Let him sit in them. It's the easiest way to find the right one.

Poor Jesse got to come out of the car seat/booster for almost a year and then had to go back in because the law changed.

He took it like a trooper.

Oh, absolutely. He needs to be able to sit in them and test them out. He had fun getting in and out of different seats the day we found the Evenflo one I mentioned. We'll be checking out Babies R Us sometime this weekend.

We went through more carseats. First the preemie ones. Then the rear facing ones. Finally learned and went with convertibles. 6 sets each time got a little expensive.

I'm going to help with our Churches graduation party for our graduates and nothing planned for this weekend. My girls will be back in the states Monday ☺. Her husband will be here for two weeks and he has to go back to finish his job there so they won't be together for two months.

It is supposed to rain all weekend so I will be finishing my book & then seeing what has backed up on my DVR. Oh and laundry. Lots & lots of laundry. I have been being lazy lately. Usually I take my dirty sheets off the bed & straight into the washer but I have two sets in the hamper & nothing but flannel clean in the closet.

It's still a Lutheran church, just one in my area

They have traditional services though which I love (very similar to Catholic service). I'm not really the new age type :p

Its a long weekend here, I too have tons of laundry.  Three kids and all those sheets and towels. Youngest got himself a job after school at a restaurant, his apron/chef jacket thingy is filthy when he gets home, he alternates with 3 of them but still.

We always go away on this long weekend but won't be this year, it will be strange.

If you wash it with lemon juice, it'll take the food smell out.
