TOTALLY GEEKED!

Up much too early. My sleep pattern is completely disorganized. A nap later in the day seems to be in order.

Slept till 7. Not even sure what the weather is yet.

Up! Have lawn work today. It is going to be rainy starting tonight. I plan on doing not much this w/e. I need down time to putz around the house.

I want leftover Chinese for breakfast.

Raining here. Supposed to get an inch or two. Rain gauge says we already got .33" so far. I spent a few hours weeding the gardens yesterday. Lots of those little trees coming up from the helicopters. DH needs to take the weed whacker to the north 40. The ivy is going crazy. I think I pulled up some poison ivy, too, so he needs to check on that. He can identify it much better than I, and since I don't get a rash or anything from it.....

 It can take days for a PI rash to start.

I've never had poison ivy...

 I did!  I didn't need a new one, my other was only 2.5 YO but the dealer made me an off I couldn't refuse.  The new model had fixes in the design that annoyed me in the old one, plus it is roomier.  I think the whole air bag debacle has dealers/manufacturers offering great deals on trade ins of the affected vehicles to lessen the liability. The fix for the airbags won't be available for 10 months or so and you can't sell your car without the fix.

I'm working too. Only a couple hours, there were a few things I just couldn't get to yesterday. Since the weather is crappy today, "outdoor activities have been suspended", which means another day stay on opening the pool.

Not sure what I'll do with the rest of my day. I might go to some places for some things too.

 I got poison ivy from my dog once.  He apparently ran through a patch of it and while it didn't bother him, the oils stayed on his fur and then I cuddled him.  That was an unpleasant experience.

Now that we're back in Canada he seems to really like hanging out in the herb garden instead, so he comes in the house smelling like rosemary!

I was walking across the parking lot this morning and a little boy & his mother were leaving the library. The boy ran to me, and threw his arms around me.

Of course, the mother was perplexed.

I explained to her who I was & that I visited his preschool once a month to read stories.

Just got through with the Bluebonnet Parade and a fancy schmancy Brunch. The Pres. of the Association didn't get the float to the staging area until 20 minutes before kick-off. Grr. And her daughter (the Queen) texted one of the other girls (the Princess) that she WAS coming, and that they should wait for her. Ummm, NO! If you think you're going to be late, you text (or call) one of the adults. We're not going to hold up the whole parade for one person. The in-coming Queen got here on time - she'll ride on the float, thank-you-very-much.

The Brunch was actually very nice. Our OES Chapter was honoring 3 members, who have been elected to serve in State and National offices. Overflow crowd - but we had more than enough food.

I think I'm ready for a nap.

I just finished my cooking program.

I put a candy melt on a square pretzel, then microwaved until soft. The kids decorated them with M & M's to look like flowers.

They had fun!

I'm busy meal-planning and making the grocery list for the week while watching Zohan. So far on the list is deconstructed chicken pot pie and enchilada-style spaghetti squash. Grocery list is done as far as staples are concerned. I'm adding stuff to it as I figure out what meals we'll be having.

DH is working. Can't wait till he's off.

DS is using a pen to screw in screws on his workbench. I don't particularly appreciate him using one of my better pens for this task but it's better than him "helping" me with my meal-planning.

DD's team won the semi final game. State finals tomorrow. They have been to the finals 3 years in a row and can't seem to win the final game. I hope they make it happen this year.

My parents will make it into town for the game tomorrow.
