I hope you're able to keep your job, Ed. Do they have short-term disability while you heal? Or are you able to do your job now?

Updates...

HR says my job is secure, I am receiving full pay forthe first 90 days as short term disability,

then 2/3 pay on long term until I retire or go back to work. My job is safe, the company doesn't fire people on disability.

I met and like my Oncologist.

I start chemo next Thursday.

She said there's a 50% chance the combination of these two drugs will contain the cancer. She didn't say the word "remission".

But I can expect to live years, not months.

I have nodules inside my lungs, which is why I'm getting mucous, and I'm coughing.

I can control it pretty much with Sudafed, Robitussin DM and Albuterol .

She said when / if I feel up to it, I can go back to work.

More prayers and hugs to you, ed.

It sounds like you have a good team of doctors.

And, you trust them, to do the best for you.

That is HUGE! smile

Hugs and prayers!

What FWM said plus a positive attitude are priceless.

My oncologist said a positive attitude will do more good then some of the best medicines. So chin up, and be positive.

Hugs.

You might want to start researching some day outtings for your area - you don't want to go stir-crazy being cooped up in the house! Historic 2-3 hour train rides that include a meal, things like that, that won't tire you out, but get you out of the house. Hope your weight has stabilized.
Hugs!

I got out for a couple hours today, got the Prius inspected, mailed the mail and bought some groceries.

I was going to drive to Levitown and buy two air conditioners to replace two that have quit,

but it was raining. I didn't feel like driving Spouse's car 30 minutes each way in the rain.

We'll see what Monday brings.

Thank you my friends for encouraging me.

Ed

Hi Ed! Can you get the A/C units delivered & installed? That seems like a lot of work especially in your weakened condition. Or maybe just delivered & have your boys install.

I picked this place because they send a 3 man team to do the installation, and take away the old ones.

Prices are reasonable too. I've used them before. smile

Good!  I hope they get them installed soon.  The heat is miserable especially when you aren't feeling 100%.  How are you feeling?

Any exertion leaves me short of breath.

I have to keep up my medications to keep mucous from building up in my chest.

Robitussin DM, Sudafed, and Albuterol.

I'll have to ask my Oncologist point blank whether my breathing will get better over time,

or if the "nodules" in my lungs are permanent.

I start chemo Thursday.

Wave when you get to Levittown.  Oh wait, you mean Levittown, NY.  I am next to the other Levittown in PA.  Did you know that Levitt built/designed three planned communities?  Levittown NY and PA and Willingboro NJ.

I thought for some reason you were already doing chemo. Good luck. Are you having someone go with you to the first one? I know you can get Uber there but I really think you should have one of your sons take you. You never know how you are going to react to the c0cktail.

Hmmm. It's  a 10 minute drive, I've been planning to drive myself.

I should ask the nurse what she thinks.

Ed since you've done business with the A/C store in the past, can you just call them, tell them what you want, let them know you are ill right now and ask if they can put the A/C's on your CC and send that team out, before thursday? You want to be as comfortable as can be.

Good news,

The protein in my urine is not a problem, and I will be starting in the study tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

I know you'll be with me in spirit,

Ed

Sunday, 4.15 pm

Poison pill # 4.

Yesterday after I took #3, the back-roof of my mouth felt inflamed. I'll report that side effect Monday, when the facility is open.

Thanks for letting me vent / blog/ or what ever it is I'm doing here.

Spouse hasn't had a mammogram in at least 10 years.

She's been watching what I'm going through, and says she would never put herself through this.

If/when she gets sick, she wants to just go quickly.
