Yes! I was just talking about this earlier. Went to dinner with my cousin last night. She brought a friend of hers and friend's 5-year old. The waitress took our drink orders: cousin: unsweetened tea, me: water, friend: sweet tea, kid: POP! He practically yelled it. Mom prompted him "what kind of pop?" Kid wanted Mt Dew.

This kid is so horribly behaved anyways, not sure why I was shocked by this

STUPID NEIGHBORS!

Today is trash and recycling pickup. I got home at 9:30 last night & saw a yellow bag in our recycling bin. It matched a bag in our next-door neighbors' one.

I finally figured out (too late) that they put a bag of TRASH in our recycling bin.

I hate those kinds of parents.  I'm not a huge fan of kids but if they are behaving I have no problem.  When idiot parents are encouraging their little demons to act "cute" it makes me crazy.  I have been known to tell the parent that their kid isn't being cute they are misbehaving & annoying to others.

He's been suffering since the temperature this week has been in the 80's. He knows to stand over the kitchen vent when the A/C is on, though.

(It has been almost a year since we lost Abby, so hopefully no more health problems for our guys!)

I really detest the expression "I just threw up a little bit in my mouth" . It's become way too common and immature coming out of an adult's mouth. I know I have said it once, maybe twice here, but no more.

 I don't get this either.

I do have to admit though that DS has had soda. He loves iced tea as much as I do and will drink out of my cup. He grabbed his dad's cup once by accident and took a drink before we could stop him. Intentionally though, I let him try a Coke float once in his life. He made the funniest face!

ETA: When I say iced tea, I mean plain, unsweetened iced tea. No sugar, no lemon, no flavors. Just tea and ice.

Today. People that act shocked when you ask for a copay. Dude you pay one every time you come here. Just like the people in line at the grocery store that hem and haw after they're rung up. You mean I have to pay? Ugh

Oh also. So patients mentally challenged son was being a bit loud while waiting in the waiting room. Apparently he was excited that they were going to the movies afterwards. He's in his 40,s but it's obvious he's slow. Two people came up to me asking about it after they left like it was a big deal. One was my manager. I explained that he's challenged and they were talking about the Movie on the way out. Good gravy. No one has ever seen that?
I sometimes feel like a perpetual dog that heard funny noise with people!

Mine rarely drink soda.  DD12 has Sprite once in a great while at a party.  Sometimes at church youth events because all they provide sometimes is soda.

And I will give DD12 Sprite when she is sick with a stomach thing.

Jojo hates the stuff.  She tasted it once and hates it.  If they don't have it, they won't grow to like the taste.

Yeah, my parents tried that.  No soda EVER growing up and never any in the house.  Now there is always a 6-pack at least of diet coke in my fridge.  I definitely grew to like the taste.

We gave DS some 7Up when he had a stomach bug back in April. He wasn't a fan.

I'm somewhat the opposite of what you describe. I like Coke but I very rarely drink it. I'm a water drinker. If I don't have water, I have iced tea. Occasionally, I'll have juice. But, all I ever really want is water. Plain, ice cold water.

DH likes the carbonation. His parents encouraged his soda habit. They were what you described - putting soda in his bottle. Honestly, becoming diabetic was a good thing for DH. It forced him to finally kick the soda habit.

Meh.

My kids got soda.

Diluted and fizz shook out.

They are fine.

Actually, when sick, their doctor said it was better than nothing.

And a coke, with the fizz shook out, can help ease motion sickness.

Tried it out at Disney World.

The teacups almost ended our trip.

pickle juice (while a shocking taste) is great for heartburn.  Maybe works for colic?

 Yes.

But there is something in coke that mimics something in motion sickness medicine.

Motion sickness is different from a regular upset stomach.

The doctor said try it, so dad did.

He was good to go after just a few sips.

It was the darnedest thing.

He was literally green when he got off that ride.

We tease him about it from time to time.

One of the kids will ask if he will ride with them again if we go back.

He firmly and quickly responds with NO!!!!
