She is tiny. Only five pounds. She's less than half the size of our smallest cat.
That's why I thought she wasn't fully grown.
She is super sweet. Whenever I go out to the garden she follows me and is never more than a foot away.
We should get her test results from the vet tomorrow. I'm looking forward to letting her out of quarantine.
NAOW - I feel bad for my stray having sleep out in the cold. I couldn't have a pet & make it stay outside. Is your DH a softie enough that you could guilt him into letting it inside when the weather gets cold?

Well, it would be allowed to come and go from the garage, just not in the house.
I mean if it got so cold that even the garage was dangerously cold, then yes, he wouldn't let an animal suffer.

Depending on the cat that might be ok. Mine are allowed in the house as much as they want but right now Maggie spends about 15 minutes a day inside. If I put a bowl on the front porch I'd never see her. She just prefers to be outside. I've had a few others like that over the years. Strangely now that I think about it, they were all females.
I think I'd wait & try to wear him down. Do you think you can wear him down eventually? Is he allergic or just doesn't like cats?

He says he doesn't like them, but I think he just doesn't like living with them. He likes other people's cats just fine. And cats love him. Seriously, they flock to him.
She might grow a bit still even though she is two. Onyx was a feral cat that was rescued. I thought she was a young kitten but she was actually close to a year old. She still kept growing once she got proper nutrition. She is still on the small side 8-9 lbs.
Not sure Jim looks all that comfortable. He's not taking his eyes off her. She looks perfectly at home! She is probably so happy to have a safe place to have her babies.
You have no question here at all. Already you brought her into your home and, by extension, into your heart. So, you will keep her (or regret it the rest of your life if you do not.)....
I wanted to thank you for saying this, Karl. You have a lovely way of expressing yourself. And you are so insightful.
I am very happy with the new member of our household.
