Swamps ARE the filters of the earth. :)

 Surprizing, isn't it?

We have what we call bogs here, they are all protected areas now.

There is a difference between something BEING a filter and something HAVING a filter.  If you ARE the filter then your very job entails you to catch all the nasty crap and contain it.  That's how filters work.

That is an amazing fact that I need to keep in mind.  It also contains that bacteria that gets in through your nose and eyes and eats your brain.  Tasty.

And this is where I no longer take you seriously. You don't know the meaning of the word stagnant. "A body of water having no current or flow". Yes. That water is stagnant. It is not flowing anywhere. It is sitting still. Thus, it's stagnant. And not "clean" no matter what you think.

I saw a tv show that had a woman on it who was zip lining, she fell into some running water, a creek.

She had a cut on her leg and apparently that flesh eating virus got into it. She lost her legs, and her arms! All amputated. Such a sad story...

I've said repeatedly I wouldn't recommend swimming in it.

I guess that part of my posts are not showing up on ya'lls computers.

Oh, we saw the backpedaling - after everything else you said.

 No. I'm not.

I remember that Apple.  She was so young.  It was heartbreaking.  Someone on Moon's board was friends with her family.  There were regular FB updates.

Ya'll are hilarious.

You don't seem to be able to read.

You can't understand what is said.

And you are "grossed out" over a natural acting ecosystem.

I've said the same thing the whole time.

You're starting to look like idiots.

Isn't that a ban-able offense?! I think it is name calling and I for one don't appreciate being called a name because I think swimming in a swamp is disgusting.

Lily - our intestines are a natural system doing what they are supposed to do. How about we fill a big pool with intestines? Would that be ok to swim in?! It's organic! And natural! Lol

In case I was not clear, I would like a ruling from a mod on whether Lily calling us idiots is an offense worthy of a "time out". It seems to be name calling. Thanks for your time mods.

LL, asked Lily to back off. In a nice kind of way.

And, as far as I can see, she has.

Let's not go on a head hunt.

Please.

Lily, here is your warning.

Don't call our members, "Idiots".

Unless you want to go on vacation.

No. Calling people idiots, is not okay.

Lily has been warned.

LL, is busy, I'm guessing.

I think she'll be fine with my warning, to Lily.

I thought I remembered her being warned recently already. Of course I could be mistaken.

Ok. So calling someone an idiot is ok as long as you don't already have a warning. Because then that can be your warning. Got it. Thanks!

I never questioned. I did not disagree. I simply restated what you already stated. I didn't say I disagreed and I didn't say you were wrong. Is it against the rules to restate what a mod has decided?

No, you were flippant with your "I guess calling people idiots is ok" comments.  Calling people idiots is not ok - which was addressed immediately, so your further comments on it are definitely questioning the moderation.

It's what alligators do. They are wild animals, not domestic pets. Are wild animals subject to the "one bite" rule now? There was no indication it was rabid.

Wild animals that attack people are always put down.  Heck, wild animals that attack farm animals and domestic animals are put down.  Some wild animals are put down just for BEING in a place that has people.

Wild animals, unless endangered, really have no rights.

And really, if you are going to be upset over the alligator deaths - how about the 5 innocent alligators they killed while looking for the boy?

That was part of an investigation to locate the remains. I'm not upset, I just don't see the need to put it down for doing what comes naturally. Relocate it, if they must.

Then again, I've been known to kill snakes on my property, because I don't want them slithering into my house.

Have you seen that video of that alligator climbing over a chain link fence?

Relocate it where?  What if it attacks a child where ever it is relocated?

No.  Once an animal has attacked a human - I have no issue whatsoever with killing it.  Hopefully, they make use of the hide so it isn't a total waste.
