It's a slaw made without mayonnaise, using vinegar and oil and sometimes spices or lemon juice as well. Depends on how sour you want it and how spicy.

Thanks.  Popeye's fried chicken used to make their slaw like that.  It was the only slaw I liked.  Last time I went they changed it to the mayo kind. cry

I actually prefer sour slaw to cole slaw too, but I can substitute cole slaw on things I would eat sour slaw on and be fine with it, if that's all that's available. It just won't be quite as awesome!
