I certainly hope my migraines have not decided to re-appear.

And I'm the odd duck who can't stand to be in a dark quiet room when I have a migraine. I need distraction.

I'm home. I beat the storms. Time to hit the hay and hope the power is still on in the morning.

Yay, my last day of work for the week. I can sleep in tomorrow if the dog allows it. Grrrr. He has been so unsettled this week.

Flooding here. Road outside our development is closed. Guess I'll be working from home today. Today is the last day of school, and the boys are spending the night at grandma's house.

My A/C guys are coming today.

Just waiting for the call to let me know what time they'll get here.

I'll be thankful when it's working properly again.

Have a good Thursday, everyone!

Ours don't start until the day after Labor Day.  They talk about having them start the week before and get out a little early, but one week really doesn't make a difference, IMO.  I would rather than eliminate these "teacher work days" they have and shorten the school year that way.  They seem to have one or two every month.  It's ridiculous.    If the teachers need more time for training or entering grades, hire more subs to step in so the teacher can get his work done.

I wonder if Jupiter would like a baby pool? This dog seems to be enjoying it.

I guess if she didn't, I could always use it.wink

I know of some community pools that allow it on the last day before they close it.

Our labs loved the pool too, except it was our neighbor's & they didn't appreciate dogs in their pool.  The dogs were on one of those underground electric fences but sometimes the temptation was just too much & they made a run for it.

Shouldn't the pool have a fence around it? It's code here in FFC. With gates that have special latches, swing out, and lock.

They had a chain link fence but it was regular fence height.  This was in the 80s, in PWC where it is zoned agricultural & most of the lots start at 2 acres.  Even now my mom has neighbors who are raising turkeys & goats.

We've had our pool for 30 years. Plus, we don't live in a city/town so we have less rules to follow sometimes. We do have a fence around the whole yard, but not one specifically around the pool.

If the pool has a liner - the dog can destroy it with their claws.

Just got back from our first "perching" excursion of the year. (That's fishing for perch in Calaveras Lake). I caught 8 (+ 2 "throwbacks"), DH caught 4 +2, and our friend caught 3. Winner!

My parents broke down and had to have one of their units replaced. The upstairs was always so hot, I can't believe they waited so long to do it. Now, it's comfortable. Or so they say.

Ugh. I scraped the side of my car pulling it in the garage. It should buff out, I just don't have the muscles for it. I was planning to have it detailed anyway, since we will be getting rid of the booster seats on Monday. Who knows what lurks under those things.

I put it on this morning to wear into work and dribbled coconut oil on it. I wore one with a pineapple on it instead. Gotta wash it!

Both of our units are on their last legs.

Baker Brothers gave us an estimate, of $32,000, to replace them with the highest end Trane. $20,000, for the lowest end.

We are shopping around.

Yeehaw!cry

 Ouch!

My supervising teacher when I was getting my K-8 certification had to replace her A/C unit but it only cost her $6000. I thought that was a fairly standard price but I guess not. Hopefully you can get a better deal.

OMG, that is pricey, why so much? Up here for that price I could have it installed in my house and the duct work and vents put in. You only need the units I assume.

We need it all, chef.

The furnaces hanging in the attic, and the outside condensers.

We really only need to replace the 4 ton unit, that runs the downstairs, for now.

We can probably wait a couple of months, on the 3 1/2 ton,  upstairs units.
