for the first time ever, we have run out of material. Usually have more than I know what to do with. So guess who's at work trying to track down a stray box for a desperate customer?

I'm finally cracking down on myself to get my airframe license. I've been setting aside an hour every night to study, I have to memorize over 1700 questions, plus prepare for my practical and oral test.

It's so daunting! But I need to quit effing around and just do it.

I just made reservations for the Forgotten Places and Spaces Walking Tour on Saurday. It's a guided tour of the historic buildings in downtown of my hometown. I'm a big history dork, so we should have fun.

I've had a cup of honey smacks, a box of craisins, 2 krystal chicks and 2 krystals with cheese since 5pm.

And I'm still not sure what it is I'm really wanting.

Oh well. There's always tomorrow.

Both of our units are on their last legs.

Baker Brothers gave us an estimate, of $32,000, to replace them with the highest end Trane. $20,000, for the lowest end.

We are shopping around.

Yeehaw!cry

Holy cow! Do get at least 3 estimates!

Sweet jeebus that is a shyt ton of money!  To replace my outside unit I was quoted about $3,000 (I opted for repair) & the entire inside & outside was somewhere around $6,000.  You must have commercial grade A/C to deal with the Texas heat.  I would have fainted dead if I was quoted $32,000.

FWM, I hope you are getting multiple estimates.

And you have to realize that the furnace part may be completely fine. They always want to replace the whole system, but many times, only the outside units actually need replacement.

We talked to another A/C guy. He's the uncle of a gal who works for Wayne.

He told us the furnaces are just fine.

The coils, drip pans and the condensers are toast.

He can put in new ones for $7300.

Now, there's a price we can live with.smile
