Neither is it as simple as "mom I want to be a girl. Ok, here are some dresses and hormone injections and surgery". What about the very real risks of giving hormone therapy to these young people? There are cancers that can develop. There are very real risks and you can pretend otherwise i guess. OK, i agree that these people such as Jazz are having a crisis of identity, etc. That is clear. However is the answer really surgery after surgery and life long hormones and a constant battle to surpress your own biology? They say they have the "wrong body". Well, their body is their body. Maybe the body is fine. And medically and scientifically, their bodies are just fine. Bruce Jenner's body was just fine. Maybe the problem isn't the Body but how they THINK about their body. Wouldn't it better to really just help them come to terms with who they REALLY are than trying to surgically excise it away? And no matter how much hormone therapy or surgery, Bruce Jenner is a male. Jazz is a male. They can hormone themselves and implant double D's, they are still male. Surgery and hormones will not change that fact.
