Actually, the question should be: Who deserves it?
I decided to close an account that I've had for about 20 years with Finance Center Federal Credit Union. It's not a large account, but I'm frustrated with their online banking service, plus the fact that there are very few actual branches in the city.
When I finally had time to talk to someone in person, it was obvious that she could NOT have cared less. There are no longer any "managers" present, or so I was told. There was, however, an office.
Most of our money is in Chase. I've been with them since high school, believe it or not.
I would, however, like to keep some money in an account (my name only). I just have to decide where.
My regular bank is a local one. But I have my savings account with Edward Jones still. A few more restrictions on how you can get your money (they don't handle cash, and they have to mail checks for distributions. But you can set up to electronically move money between your "regular" account at the bank). I like it for a savings account. It's harder to get to, so I'm less likely to spend it on a whim.
I've been totally happy with Wells Fargo - hope you have a branch near you. There is very little employee turn-over, so they get to know their customers well.
Once I was having trouble transferring money from a saving account to a checking account on line. I called my local branch, and they immediately took care of the transfer, just because they recognized my voice. Customer Service is their middle name!
