You missed the point.  CHRISTIAN mingle.

So a Christian goes to a dating site .......

You missed the point.  Pick the dating site that most suits your interests.  Don't try to change one that already exists to meet your needs.

What is the point of using a dating site?

To find a date.

When you find a date, your purpose is to form a bond.

That bond is hopefully going to move you to a more permanent relationship.

A relationship that will possibly lead to marriage.

And that will mean sex.

Meaning this Christian site is meant to facilitate a Godly blessed union between a man and a woman.

A Christian is not going to marry someone of the same sex.

That is an abomination in the eyes of God.

It is a sin.

I've often heard the argument "how is baking a cake or taking pictures participating in sin", but providing a service that will eventually lead to sex most asurdedly is participating.

When Christian Mingle agreed to accept homosexuals, they agreed to participate in sin.

And that is the saddest thing about all of this.

They chose it.

Perhaps they identify themselves as Christians before abominations.confuse

You might be surprised how many gay Christians are actually out there.

They can call themselves Christians all they want but if they are engaging in homosexual sex they are not Christians. Sorry but that's according to the Bible which for Christians IS THE WORD OF GOD.

So you say, There are many denominations of Christians and while some condemn homosexuality, some don't. If ChristianMingle truly felt that God was on their side, why didn't they fight this?

Seeing how you are not a Christian you obviously have no clue what being a Christian means but go ahead and pretend you know and I'll just laugh right at you.

No, you don't seem to understand, a person who is a Christian logs onto a website.... that is how it starts. There was no option for them, now there is. ChristianMingle saw the light, so to speak :)

And denominations that do not follow the Bible are not teaching and living a life serving Christ.

Why didn't they fight? In my opinion, they are not as steadfast in Christ as they should be.

They could have fought. They could have made the judgement come down so they could fight it. Instead, because they are a BUSINESS, they made a BUSINESS decision to abide and settle.

Money trumps religion often times.

Well, to be fair, when you are a business you have responsibilities to your employees and to shareholders if there are any.

But yes, they could have fought this if they felt it important enough to do so.

If it makes you feel better about yourself go ahead and keep posting comments based assumptions full of nothing but your seeming animosity that my beliefs do not line up with yours. This is after all what all great religious wars and conflict are based on, so I don't believe for a second that it will ever end.

I think I understand the religious wars a bit better now. If people on a board cant agree to disagree, and prefer to argue it ad nauseum, then it makes perfect sense that other humans can't let it go either. Humans are such fickle people doncha think?

Assumptions? You've already said you don't believe in God or the Bible so I am not assuming anything. I am taking you at you word even without all the incredibly incorrect posts you've made about what is Christian and what is not. If it makes YOU feel better about yourself to pretend then by all means carry on...lol

You only know what you believe to be true, it is what you have been told or taught. YOUR particular denomination of Christianity is not the only one nor is it the only religion. Acting like you have the final word on what Christianity is, well that is just nutty.

Back on topic, it would seem that ChristianMingle is more business than a religious entity. They did not stand and fight this horrible tragedy of not being able to discriminate against homosexuals or "abominations" as you like to call them.

It just does not work to mix business and religion, discrimination will become an issue at some point. As you will see, most businesses identify and act like businesses when it comes down to it.

Abomination is not my word for them. It's Gods. Straight from the Bible. You know? That book that Christians are supposed to follow. I can't help it if non-Christians call themselves Christians even if they don't follow the Bible.

It is what it is.

www.biblegateway.com/passage/%3A20-37&version=NLT

Luke 17:20-37 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Coming of the Kingdom
20 One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom of God come?” Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs.[a] 21 You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you.
22 Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see the day when the Son of Man returns,[c] but you won’t see it.
23 People will tell you, ‘Look, there is the Son of Man,’ or ‘Here he is,’ but don’t go out and follow them.
24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so it will be on the day[d] when the Son of Man comes.
25 But first the Son of Man must suffer terribly[e] and be rejected by this generation.
26 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. 27 In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building
29 until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
31 On that day a person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return home.
32 Remember what happened to Lot’s wife!
33 If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it.
34 That night two people will be asleep in one bed; one will be taken, the other left.
35 Two women will be grinding flour together at the mill; one will be taken, the other left.[f]”
37 “Where will this happen, Lord?”[g] the disciples asked. Jesus replied, “Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.”[h]

You can't play the victim card in a situation you started in the first place.

Some businesses claim to be religious and choose to oppress others through their business, funnily enough these are the first to cry discrimination when they feel a push back.

Why did ChristianMingle settle? Do you really understand why? this is why many more companies will do the same.

I'm not playing victim. Simply stating a fact.

Why did they settle? Money.

It was cheaper in the long run.

It's a catch 22.

"General Christianity" has proven that it has no such entirety-wide restriction.
__________________________________________________________

typical liberalspeak--utter bs--this is the problem with the entire liberal agenda--no personal responsibility/accountability

NO ONE, including the government, whatever homosexual organization/athiest organization, etc. is going to force me to interact/admit homosexuals to an organization to which I belong without my consent--my right to privacy ( and yours ) trumps a bunch of homosexuals' feelings/pc whinings for being excluded from the same--believe me, i won't sue/go to court/go to the media to force homosexuals (regardless of their " religion " ) to admit me to a " homosexualmingles " site
can personally guarantee that it will never happen

"General Christianity" refers to all of the various Christian denominations added together and taken as a whole. So I don't know what your argument is with what you quoted, because it's a plain and well known fact that there are denominations that do accept gay rights as equal to that of straight rights and that do perform gay marriages. That and your point that you posted doesn't even really touch on the subject of your quote of me.

A dating service should be able to limit itself to any certain type of people. It's DATING, and people should actually be able to limit those choices as they see fit.

I agree with this. Unfortunately for ChristianMingle, they included all Christians by the nature of their business name. Some of those Christians that they included happen to be gay.

They can call themselves Christians all they want but if they are engaging in homosexual sex they are not Christians. Sorry but that's according to the Bible which for Christians IS THE WORD OF GOD.
- Tinydancer

You meant "for SOME Christians IS THE WORD OF GOD", right? For many Christians the Bible is "The Word of God, put to paper as best that fallible humans can do, and with some human prejudices thrown in, due to that very human fallibility".

You missed the point. Pick the dating site that most suits your interests. Don't try to change one that already exists to meet your needs.

That might be the dating site that most suits their interests. Is it impossible for them to only want to date Christians? If I were dating and only wanted to pick through Christians on a dating site and only wanted Christians looking at my ad, I'd consider going to one that advertised itself as Christian.

 Nothing.

Sex between a man and woman who are married to each other is sanctified by God.

I will never believe that a god "sanctifies" the union of a dominant, overbearing husband who treats his wife like a chattel.

Again - someone totally clueless as to what the Bible actually says about how a husband is supposed to treat his wife.
