Morning Everyone! Going to be a hot and humid one today! Hope everyone has an easy day.
Need to get snacks for 250 teenagers for Saturday. It is time for the Lodge sponsored annual youth trip. There are 250 teenagers (16-18) coming in from all over the world on Saturday. We also make sure they get fed dinner but that does not start until around 5:00 at a diner so I get snacks for them. Some of these kids have never traveled before.
After that, I go to the chiro to get adjusted and a mini-massage. Mani/Pedi appointment is after lunch. Then back home to get ready for the party here this weekend.
That's both awesome and daunting JL. 250 teens????
I am not able to make it down there on Saturday so I have been doing all the prep in advance. I miss going down and helping out. It used to be the Saturday before the Fourth but they changed it last year to the Saturday after. Which is the same day as our annual Independence Day party.
And they are good kids. The only problems DH & I ever had with them is that some have never spent a night away from home, ever. There have been a few that clung to us but since we are not on the trip with them, we try to get them integrated with the other kids quickly.
Awww, but your are so great for still volunteering.

And it went from a pleasant 79 to 98 and then a wind so hot it took your breath pushed straight down and then it was ice cold and then hot again.
Now it's like midnight out there and nothing is moving.
The only reason I'm not hunkered down in my bathtub is the occasional firefly I see.

I bought a new thermometer at Target today for the kids. It's $15 cheaper on Amazon. And I already opened it, so I can't take it back.
We have been hearing that today would be a day full of severe thunderstorms. We got all our patio stuff moved, got the cars into the garage and... nothing. Seriously. It sprinkled for like 20 minutes. I was kind of hoping for them, we haven't had too many this year.
That down burst of wind was the craziest thing I've ever felt.
Our house is brick, but when that wind sat down on the house, it was physically felt.
We had a tree fall on the house 15 years ago.
This was way scarier.
