LuLaRoe - blech!

Has anyone heard of LuLaRoe? It's a multi level marketing home based business like Mary Kay except it's clothes. They are so freaking hideous. My SIL has become a consultant and she is blowing up my FB every other hour with crap from her "VIP group" of family that she is trying to sell to. It's mostly leggings (which are NOT pants TYVM) and giant tshirts and they only come in these bright prints. No offense to anyone who likes it, it's just NOT my style at all. She is making me crazy with all the invites to her "e-parties" and exclusive events. Barf.

Have you geeks heard of it? Seen it? Avoided it?

I've never heard of it.

Or seen it.

And, thank goodness, I don't do Facebook....so, nothing is getting blown up, on my end.

Yeehaw!wink

Ok good. It looks like leggings and a tent in the most hideous color combos imaginable. My SIL is super fit and has a smoking bod and she covers it up in theses huge clothes and garish prints. It's sad.

I thought they were children's clothes when I first saw them. Then I discovered grown women were supposed to wear it.

What ever happened to wearing solid on the bottom, and putting a cute print on top?

confuse

Nope, I wouldn't wear that.

But, that's JMHO.

I'm not inclined to like most MLM's, but I seriously don't get the following for LulaRoe. The leggings are $25 a pair too! I do hear that they are super comfy though.

Also, to be a consultant you have to pay $5,000 to start your inventory

Looks like the 80s are back!

Glad I saved my shoulder pads and metalic accessories!

You can leave the group. You won't get anything else from it.

If you have to, block it.

And you don't get to pick your inventory - ever. They send you what they want in the sizes and colors that they want. You have zero say in it. Makes no sense to me. All of their stuff used to be made in the USA, that would have been a decent idea, but it no longer is. Its all made overseas now.

I would also think that would prevent building a loyal client base, since another consultant might get better inventory or sizes.

Yes, I've heard of them, but since I don't do FB...I avoid the whole thing.

And thanks for the added details, NAOW. Anyone with any sense would run far away from a business like that!

Someone sent me an invite to it. One, they're ugly as home made sin. Wouldn't wear them. They are way over priced. I hear how comfortable they are but that just screams pajama's to me. One trend I won't get into.

They are huge in my area, as are other lines. A friend of mine sells a different brand. The fabrics are fantastic although I am not fond of the print leggings. The tops are very fashionable. She markets them to SAHMs for the most part. the $5K start up fee my friend paid is for inventory so it isn't as though she is paying the money just for the privelage of selling the items.

I have a few friends that sell them. It is huge here as well. I do have one less vibrant pair. They are very soft. Great for pjs. I wouldn't wear them in public.

My friend's line includes dresses and maxi skirt which really look great even for the office.

OMG, not even for people who are 5'3"....

I remember wearing maxi dresses decades ago & nearly broke my neck because I was sitting down at work and rolled the chair over onto the bottom of the dress & tried to stand up...

OMG one of my former high school classmates posted a photo of her a few months ago wearing those weird leggings and a t-shirt. She was bragging about her new "outfit" and how cute she felt. I thought, OMG, and said nothing.
