Indiana Gov. Mike Pence will almost certainly be chosen as Donald Trump’s running mate, according to a new report from the Washington Times.
The politically-conservative newspaper reported on Sunday that sources say Pence has a “95 percent probability” of being Trump’s VP choice. The sources are Republicans “close to the campaign and to the governor,” the paper says.
Appearing to back up the Pence-Trump rumors, Republican Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosma sought advice from a lawyer on how to prepare a run for governor, the newspaper further reports.
Trump’s campaign is planning a rally in Westfield on Tuesday immediately after a fundraiser in downtown Indianapolis with Pence. The rally is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Grand Park Events Center. Tickets are available on Trump’s campaign website. You can watch the rally live on WISHTV.com Tuesday evening.
Pence is considered a leading candidate to be Trump’s running mate. He’s listed as a host of Tuesday’s private fundraiser on an invitation obtained by The Associated Press. A Pence spokesman confirmed the governor’s plans to attend the private fundraiser. Tickets range from $2,700 per person to $250,000 per couple.
Trump is expected to name his choice in the coming days. Pence must decide by July 15 to either continue his campaign for governor or run as Trump’s running mate. If he accepts the VP nod, the state Republican committee will choose a new gubernatorial candidate to run against John Gregg in November.

Pence is expected to attend the rally, which would be the latest in a series of apparent auditions for Trump’s vice presidential prospects.
Trump just came as close as he ever will to naming his Vice Presidential running mate. It appears he wants Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) to join the ticket. This is a political earthquake that would shake the political establishment to the core!
Trump also expressed that he would be choosing someone with political experience, a notion that he and his surrogates have frequently mentioned as a factor. Other names on Trump's list are said to be Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

I realize that... the ever changing list though.... that says something.
Every day there's someone new. It was Christie a few days ago. I'll believe it when he names them for sure.

Attendees lined up as early at 6:30 in the morning Tuesday. By the time the doors opened at 4:30 p.m., several hundred were standing in the hot sun waiting to get inside.
The event was scheduled to start 7:30 p.m., but started an hour late which caused some to leave early.
Some explained Trump’s speech was exactly what they were expecting and had heard before, but they were glad he touched on the ambush on the officers in Dallas.
They also were glad he offered his condolences to the two men killed at the of police in Baton Rogue and Minnesota.
A few people we talked with were simply excited to see Trump in person. They had missed out on his Indiana rallies during the primary.
“I’m not for Trump or for Hillary right now. I’m hoping this would kind of swing my opinion a little bit, seeing him in person,” said Shaun Cook of Westfield. “I know a lot of people are upset with what’s going on around the country right now and I’m one of them too. And things really need to change and I’m hoping being here tonight will swing my opinion more towards him.”
Pence has made headlines across Indiana and the US for the wrong reasons, specifically his handling of RFRA.
“Pence has done a lot of things the past couple of years that Indiana, people from Indiana are upset about too, so I think it’ll hurt him honestly in Indiana. I don’t think he should go with Pence. Chris Christie would probably be the best bet for him,” said Cook.
Yeah, I don't know. It's hard to judge if someone is a good pic based on the opinion in the state the person is from. Those opinions aren't held nationwide because we don't have first hand knowledge of his actions.
