Every time I open the app, this comes up.

And I can choose not to "play in the real world" or "play in the wild" by thing off the camera option.

When that's off, the screen just turns green except for the animation.

LOS ANGELES -- Two men suffered moderate injuries when they tumbled off a seaside cliff north of San Diego while reportedly playing Pokemon Go, fire officials said Thursday.

The pair fell after climbing a fence and disregarding warning signs in order to get on the bluff in Encinitas, Calif., said Fire Marshal Anita Pupping.

Pupping says one of the men tumbled about 50 feet. His companion fell about 80 to 90 feet, landing on the beach at 1 p.m. Wednesday. “The fire department had to extricate them with ropes and harnesses and such,” said Pupping.

Pokemon Go has become a summer phenomenon, a game played on smartphones in which characters are projected on the screen amid the player's actual surroundings. The goal of the game is to capture the animated figures. Unlike past app-based games, Pokemon Go is being credited with coaxing kids and adults to exercise by having to walk to play. But it also has landed players in hot water.

Before that it was putting on make up in the car.

There are signs on the freeways here that read 'Pokemon Go is a no-go while driving'. Really sad that people have to be told this.

Anyone that's worried about app permissions, there's an app that can re-write permissions so that after you install an app you can revoke permissions you didn't want to give it. Look for "APK Permission Remover" in the Google Play Store.

Be warned before you use it though, some apps know when they can't do things that they want to do. And when they know about it sometimes they will quit working.

I only first heard of this game when it made the news recently when someone was killed in a car accident while playing. I still don't know what it is, other than an app game.

The boys collect Pokemon cards, watch the show, and went to a Pokemon themed party. Since they don't have iPads or iPhones of their own, they don't play the game. Yet.

When I was in town tonight, I saw three families obviously hunting. I think it's cute, seeing them all running along the sidewalk together.

The boy and I also saw a few people last night who we thought were playing. It became a game within a game, spotting people who are playing. We had fun with it.

My 11 yr old was explaining something about it to me the other day, and in the middle of it he stopped, looked at me, and said "isnt pokemon so much FUN!?" :grin: and then finished his explanation. It was such a cute anecdote he threw out there. :D

So I downloaded the app. I caught a pokemon in my office. Now they want me to walk. I suspect walking around playing Pokemon Go would be frowned upon.

I left the office briefly yesterday to run by Starbucks and there were three boys, different ages and possibly siblings, on the corner of our office-complex-dominated area, standing in a tight group staring fixedly at their phones. I figured at least they're out getting exercise and hoped they'd look before crossing the street.

They are not really in your house.

It's part of an app.

They are on the phone in a virtual world but set to appear in certain locations.

I'm not a computer geek so I can't explain it very well.

But the SPN fandom is talking about a Supernatural Go game.

Now, you either have to hit up some pokestops and spin them to get more balls, or go to the poke store where you spend real money to buy coins that you can in turn spend on balls or other items to help you level up. I suggest the pokestop :)

There are blue diamond looking things at points of interest on the map. When you get close enough to them, the diamond on top changes to a spinning circular thing. When you are in range, you click on it (you know you are in range because the diamond changed). It brings up a picture and a description of the point of interest. Swipe across the picture to spin it. It will drop goodies--balls until you are level 5 and can fight at the gyms, then balls plus sprays, eggs, etc.--and turn purple. You have to stay in range until it drops the goodies. Over the course of the next 5 or so minutes, it will slowly turn from purple back to blue. Once it is fully blue again, you can swipe it again for more goodies. Try to read the descriptions for the ones that have them. They are pretty cool. There are several graveyards in my area with historical significance that I was completely ignorant of until I read about them while I was playing.

You will also get additional pokeballs when you gain a level. Freebies.

If you can find a pokestop at a restaurant, those are great. You can stop in, have lunch, and grab spin the stop every few minutes while you eat to beef up your inventory. There was a buffalo statue in the lobby of a Buffalo Wild Wings that I found when I was out of town for the weekend that was a stop. If you have a good place to stock up, I suggest doing so--the balls go pretty fast.
