This game wasn't even a blip on my radar but now I might just have to check the game out. My grandkids kept talking about it so I need to go learn the lingo...lol

I was out of balls until yesterday.

While out, the boys did the spinning while I was driving, I got 60 more.

Can't blame the app for stupidity. I mean really, is it a good decision to play while driving? Nope. Do people get injured and/or in accidents while playing it? Yes.

Anything used, not for its intended purpose, can be dangerous. But I suppose now it should be banned, right? Or only be downloaded after a thorough background investigation and license to carry? Or just issue a lengthy disclaimer?

That is interesting. Maybe people play it while riding bikes? Or they run into bicyclists because they aren't paying attention? I'll have to check with my LEO friends and see how the app has affected them. I do see accidents, etc., all over the news lately from people who were playing it at the time.

Texting and walking or driving has been a problem for some time. Smart phones are a distraction, but they aren't going away, and people need to just use them responsibly.

 Take a screen shot so I can see it.

I posted pictures of pokestops. 

You do have to be pretty close to them.

Also, churches, landmarks, historic sites, public gathering spots all usually have pokestops.

This is a screen shot of what I can see on my phone of my area. 

The blue diamond thing is a pokestop.  The red thing past that to the right is a gym.

This is what a pokestop looks like up close. Right now, I am too far away and it says so in the bubble at the bottom. When I am close enough, I can swipe it to spin and get items. Balls, eggs and other things.

This is a gym. Right now it shows it is controlled by the red team and it shows "who and what" is there to "fight".

And it also has a way to move people.

When "incubating eggs" you have to move.

I have a 2km egg incubating now and I have 4 or 5, 5km eggs to incubate.

It's kind of a step counter but it counts kilometres.

So I broke down and bought coins and traded for 20 balls. I've been carrying the phone around with me doing chores waiting for it to vibrate, alerting me to pokemon. But nothing happens.

I suck at this game.

I catch most of mine at night.

The best ones have been between 11pm and 4 am.

At least that's one advantage to not being able to sleep.

That's incense.

It is supposed to draw the ones around closer.

When throwing a ball, there is a green circle on the target and it gets smaller.

That's like an aiming tool.

The smaller the green circle, the more likely to catch it.

And sometimes, they get loose before it locks.

The stronger the cp, the more likely it is to escape.

The boys found Zubat. I caught him. Only took 9 balls (eyeroll). I'm not very good.

ETA:  #2 caught something named weeble or whatever with one ball.  He's better than I am.
