How have your work experiences been over the years?  Good or bad bosses?  Did you work with fun people or a lot of drama llamas?  lol

I've been with the same company for 23 years and I've had every kind of co-worker and boss. Now that I'm the boss I hope I'm a good one...lol

Here is my bad boss story. My last job, I worked in sales. We had a meeting every morning to kick off the day before we all left for our appointments. At least once a week, the owner would grace us with his presence to tell us how horrible we were and we obviously weren't capable of learning how to do things his way or we would be doing it right by now. And he would say that maybe he should just fire the lot of us and hire people willing to learn.

Then, one day the drunk b@stard did fire me. But it was one of the most freeing moments in my life.

I had a awesome boss! He was the best boss I ever had, of course I may be partial since my boss is my husband.

I've had mostly good bosses.

Worst experience with a boss was ironically with one of my favorite bosses. He ignored the multiple phone calls and pages and left me to deal with a 2 mile long backup of traffic.

I've had all kinds of each.

When I became the boss, I didn't want to be a bad one.

Never asked anyone to do anything I wasn't willing or able to do myself and I never sat on my butt. My hands were just as dirty, or dirtier, as anyone else's.

I had great work experiences in which I made life long friends, and I've worked in jobs in which I cried every day.

Had bosses that were amazing and bosses that were complete gum wads.

Had a job that put me in the back woods mountain areas that make you think of movies like Wrong Turn and Deliverance.

And I've worked in nice boutique specialty stores where the cheapest thing in there was a weeks wages.

 Ikr? Lol

For the most part I've loved my bosses, although I've had a couple of sexist ones for sure.

In my experience, the better you treat them the better they treat you. I guess some people call that sucking up but I don't care!

Had a boss that liked to touch your boobs.

I didn't stay there.

For the most part, I've had really great bosses. The one exception was a girl who thought her shyt didn't stink. She was one of a team of 4 I supported. The other 3 team members were great.

My second to last boss was absolutely fantastic! He never, absolutely never, asked me to stay late on a Wednesday, because he knew DH and I would rush over to Goldwater Rehab Hospital to teach wheelchair square dancing. And every Thanksgiving, he gave me the entire Wednesday off, so I could make desserts (14 different kinds of pies!) for our W/C group. I always worked the Friday after Thanksgiving, when all the other secretaries wanted to shop on Black Friday. Even though my regular hours were 9-5, I was always in the office by 7:30 (easier commute at that time of day!) so I could answer all the calls from our branches in London, Paris, & Tokyo etc. The overseas people always knew if they called my boss, they'd get a live person! When he was appointed Director of our international banking group, morale was subterranean, and turnover was very high (around 20%). After 6 months, we had a zero turnover. He respected his officers (and support staff) and really listened to what they had to say. I miss him and his wife.

I've worked for the same guy for 20 years. I love him to death. When G and I got married, he was our one and only witness.
We've had very few drama llamas. The atmosphere is awesome. We work hard, but we have fun too.

Let's see:

My worst bosses were both women, who were also micro-managing arsewipes. I endured the first for 2 years & the second for 13 months.

I've had bosses who were afraid of their own shadow, bosses who just wanted to be friends, very old-school bosses, bosses who had no respect for their chosen profession, bosses who could not keep their personal & professional lives separate, bosses who appreciated my expertise & stayed out of my way...

I have had the "hide your head in the sand" bosses. The ones who pretend everything is fine. They don't want to know or hear of problems. Their management style was Conflict Avoidance, lol.

 Yup!

And when I pointed out said problems, I was the one who got in trouble.

Of course. I have seen that type of boss quite a lot. For the most part, work is work. I can't say i have ever "loved" working everywhere. There are arsehats at every job. People who think they run the show, the drama llamas, etc. I like to do MY job, but the people that surround it, not so much. Not that i haven't worked with some great people, i absolutely have. But, you know what i mean!
