Hello world - its SUNDAY ! ! !

In my 20's, I bumped into a construction truck. My front end was crunched, but there wasn't a scratch on the truck. I was ready to call the police but the driver and his friend told me they weren't going to report it and since I was at fault, just to let it go. I did, and I'm glad I did.

There are occasions when accident reports aren't necessary.

I agree in your case.

So I have to file an accident report even though the cop wrote one out for the accident. I just did it. What a lying sack of a teen this girl that hit me is. She told me and the cop that she had been driving for 20 years and that it was her husband's car. She is 18, and it was daddy's car. I wrote that in my statement on the report.

That's a weird thing to lie about. Seems like she should know how easy that is to verify. Just makes your side stronger though!

Its good that you called the police. A lot of people will try and lie their way out of paying for damages.

When I saw the police report with her age I was so relieved to know that I called the police.  Parking lot accidents are easy to lie about, it becomes she said/she said situation if someone is trying to not take responsibility.  She definitely would have lied, probably has on her report and to the insurance company.

That was something I told both my kids if ever they were in a accident. Always call the police, one of my sons friends was in a accident and it was clearly the other drivers fault. She convinced him ( a 16 yr old) that there was no need to call police that they would just settle it among themselves and she ended up claiming the kid was at fault and it became he said she said. This happened to two other kids I know.

Sadly, around here anyway, the cops don't want to go to an accident.  If they have cell phones tell them to take pictures!!!!!  Everything!  The scene, the other persons license plate, the other persons license.  You can't believe how it helps me!
