Someone that comes in and totally organizes the whole house?

I think I need one of those.

It seems I move the same stack of stuff every time I clean.

And I purge.

I ain't one to hold onto things.

Have you used the service?

Would you?

No. I don't see how it would help. I mean, yes, i could use the organization. But, really, if i bite the bullet and just clean and purge, then it's fine. DH and I cleaned out the garage and got rid of a whole bunch of junk.

I have purged myself down to using only a fourth of a closet and 4 drawers.

I purge in the kitchen, but I swear, those stupid containers spawn new ones when no one is looking.

I get things put away, but it just doesn't feel done.

It isn't about hoarding anything.

I like to have a place for everything, and everything in its place.

I will never have a place for everything, nor have everything in its' place.

Clutter bugs me.

It bugs me too. But, i could literally spend every waking moment for the rest of my life organizing, labeling, storing, sorting or whatever and it would never end!

No.

Once everything has a place, it has a place.

I think the problem here, is too much coming in and not enough going out.

Having a place sounds good. Maybe that works for you. For me, not so much. I can assign a place. BUt if the place isn't convenient or handy then it doesn't wind back up at it's place. I am not going to drive myself crazy with some "everything has it's place mantra" from the 1950s. Yeah, sometimes some stuff isn't where i would like it to be. Oh well.

I agree, more seems to come in than go out.

For me, it's about convenience.

I would like a garage organizer. DH, I discovered after 10 years of marriage, doesn't throw things away.

DH used to not want to get rid of anything. After 3 moves, he is done with hanging onto stuff and has joined me in the 'less is more' mentality.

My dining room is the catch all space. Other than that I don't have much clutter except for books.

I want to build a book case along the wall of our hall.

Floor to ceiling, and it would be about 9 feet long.

I think that could help.

Instead of a bookcase, you might want to think about closed cabinets - then you don't have to keep it neat.

I did that in the corner at the end of my hallway in my old house.  It was wonderful.

What I want to do will have both.

We have a crap ton of books we want to keep.

And I would like have them in a place where they are easily available.

But we need some closed storage as well.

If I could do what I want, the wall size book case/ storage shelf would free up the end of the hall where we have trophies, books stacked and photos.

At the end of the hall, I would love to streamline the PC and move to there.

Mount the monitor, have a small corner desk for the key board and some storage there.

That would get the computer out of the dinning room.
