You missed your calling Trudy! Design would be so much more fun than insurance!
Seriously. I should have gone to RISD. I do everyones house. For free!
The EX actually gave me the BM color wheel. He would ask me about clients. Then he'd go spout off what I said. One lady figured it out. Lots of laughs.
ok, upon review I like Chelsea Grey. You'll see it does a nice combo with April Showers. That trim would pop!

That looks amazing. I especially like that the trim isn't white. Everyone does their trim white.
I keep a very neutral slate because I tend to change color preferences too often.

I've lived in my house 9.5 years & haven't changed anything. Well I changed some of the stuff the original owners did as soon as I moved in. Like changed the kitchen from red with poofy floral curtains to 3 different shades of brown & panels on the slider.
I changed the coral colored powder room with gold fixtures to mocha & purple with stainless fixtures.
I painted the institutional mint green basement to a drab green tan combo.
I change my bedroom every couple of years. Others - maybe 6 or 7. Usually I change the living room when a major piece of furniture needs replacing.
Next room to get a make-over will be the dining room. I want a new table - one that gets longer. At Thanksgiving, I swapped the Living Room and dining room and I LOVE it. The dining room was too small for a china cabinet and big table, and my living room is just off the kitchen and you have to walk through it for everything. So, now, my former dining room is a small sitting room, and I have a HUGE dining space right off the kitchen. I love it. But I need to warm it up with a big rug, and I want a bigger table and a bigger china cabinet.

We only have it in 3 bedrooms and the living room.
I want it gone!

Go buy it! Drink & paint!
It won't go with my furniture, etc. And I always drink & paint. Some of my corners show it too!

I have an antique mahogany dining table that, at it's smallest, is round and perfect for 4 or 5 people and your dining room, opens up to over 100", I have it at it's longest all the time because I have a huge dining room. The table is almost 5" wide. It would open nicely into your living room area on special occasions. I am never getting rid of it though.

Thanks, the pictures don't do it justice. It is gorgeous in person. The table is well over 100 years old. It is so wide that you can place all your sides and entree in the middle and still have plenty of room.

Our home is very Earthy/crunchy but since DW is addicted to bright colors, we do have some punch on the walls (living room is lemongrass green, kitchen is terracotta orange, 1st floor guest bathroom is like a really healthy egg yolk color, etc). I would be happy with cream colored walls and letting our artwork and plants add the color but she likes COLOR. Our girls picked their own room colors so those are varied to the extreme (8 yr old has bright magenta, oldest has Mexicali Turquoise, etc... there are six DDs altogether so it's a potpourri). Thankfully the bedrooms are all on the second floor. So company only sees the Earth tones downstairs. If we ever sold out home we would have to hire professional painters to do everything the color of Parmesan cheese, I'm sure.
Yo trudy.....here is my dining room....the curtains are dark blue with gold, deep red accents. The room is off the kitchen which is white with colonial blue....what color? Straw?
I think I got them at Lowe's when I first moved in. I would really like drapes or something to give privacy, but we really need light in the house, as it's very dark inside. I fear drapes might take away much needed light.
