I am pretty good at room arranging. I used to move the furniture around all the time when I was younger - my mother was a "furniture against the wall" type person and I am not. So, when she'd go out, I'd move it all around and she'd come home in the dark and run into everything. It drove her crazy.
I confess - almost every place I visit, I rearrange the furniture in my head.

I would also simplify what is on top of that bookshelf - get rid of the baskets and twinkle lights? and pennant.
What I'm wondering is this (but am not sure) - the table behind the love seat would give a simpler silhouette against the wall where the gate leg table is than the gate leg table. Then, if those hamsters have to stay in the room (which is a decorating nightmare), try to put them both on the one table to simplify. Put the gate leg behind the loveseat and use it as a charging station. You would also then be able to pull the side up if you need it to use it.
I'm noticing a lot of little tables and hard surfaces. Instead of that little table with the lamp behind the chair in the corner, I would remove the table and do a standing reading lamp (assuming you read there). Is there another softer chair that could be swapped out for that wood one? You have a lot of hard surfaces and leather you are trying to soften with fabric.
I would also remove whatever is in that corner by the piano and put a small accent chair there.
I like the piano in that window, so it limits how much you can re-arrange with a big sofa and loveseat.

I have prints and a couple of watercolor paintings I snagged from my cousin's gallery. And some antique plates from a set my DH inherited from his grandmother.

Oooh, those sound pretty.

So, I can't decide. One of our rental houses is in desperate need of a tile backsplash behind the stove area. Luckily, the kitchen is "U" shaped, so we can just tile the back wall without it looking weird. The cabinets are white, and the countertops in that house are a sage green. I have decided to go with a smaller subway tile, about half the size of the norm - I want to keep it simple and classic. But, I can't decide on grout color. I'm leaning towards grey, but I can't decide.

I will need to do a backsplash for my new kitchen, nothing but dry wall there now. It is an open floor plan so i dont want to make too much of a statement. WHite appliances, light beigy walls all around. Likely white subway tile with some interest spot over the stove, though.

They're both in there. The cages are the same. One on the long wall on the sofa table between the sofas. The other on the short wall on the gate leg drop leaf table.
I have to crop my pictures or they will do that as well.

That looks amazing FNW! Trudy you really have a gift, I would have never though of that color in there, but it is wonderful. If I post pics of my bedroom will you help me pick a color?
