Who's going to watch and what will you be watching?  Of course i am going to watch womens' basketball.  And, i love gymnastics.

I love gymnastics, track and field, and the swimming and diving. I will watch what I can when I remember but I won't make a point to seek it out.

I can get into some track and field and swimming

I think I like the summer Olympics better than the winter.

But have you seen the water they will be competing in?

It's being tested before hand so they will know i
how to treat illness.

There is no sanitation system. Raw sewage is dumped into to water ways constantly.

And there are areas that are being, basically, forbidden.

Brazil is beautiful.

But it's also a very dangerous place.

They had a doctor on the news who said there was raw sewage floating by as well as furniture, dead animals, etc. Disgusting.

I might tune in to see the train wreck that is Brazil. I cringe at the idea of our Americans over there, exposed to all the filth and bringing it back here. I think the athletes should be quarantined afterwards before they return.

Plus, I think it was a huge mistake letting Rio host.

The IOC should hang their heads in shame.cry

They shouldn't be swimming in a cesspool of sewage.  Let them swim elsewhere.  That's ridiculous.

I watched part of the opening ceremonies. A lot of the athletes came walking out holding their cell phones and texting and snapping selfies. The countries were escorted in by a person on a multi colored tricycle which was a bit clownish. I hope the games go well. Can't wait for gymnastics!

Yeah, here is a country lecturing us on climate change and the environment while their own country is an open sewer! Yup. Take note, this is the third world of Obama/Hillary where everyone is poor and controlled and dominated, except for them.

 This is Brazil's award for being a good bastion of socialism.  And, we can now see that socialism sucks, fosters the worst in people and can only do piss poor jobs in terms of productivity.

I heard yesterday that some of the rooms at the Olympic village aren't ready for the athletes. The whole thing is unacceptable. But, what can ya do?

So, the world wants to lecture about extravagance. But, then every 4 years we build entire facilities and buildings and stadiums for the Olympics. Which is fine in wealthy countries who can then maintain those. But, in other countries, many of these facilities fall into disrepair and are left to rot. I enjoy watching the Olympics and think it is a lot of fun but there has to be some reality to who can actually host it.

Aww, c'mon now Gaga - we can't discriminate against countries just b/c of poverty, lack of cleanliness, inability to support the Olympic infrastructure, a high crime rate, and disease.

They are on the women's soccer teams. The goalie for the New Zealand team, Erin Naylor (whom I met and that's why I know her name) and someone on the Canadian team (whom I did not meet and I can't remember her name).

I remember watching the 1996 Olympics. My mom and I were on vacation in Florida and we watched them together.

WAY too many commercials! I am trying to watch tonight and it's almost impossible to get into it. They show you one race and cut to commercials. Then come back and show one race and back to commercials. Then back to the Olympics and they show a medal ceremony and a brief interview with stupid questions that my bath mat could have asked and then back to commercials. It's impossible to build momentum for anything. I keep switching channels and forgetting to switch back. This is a disaster.

Yes I have. It's a way to get oxygen to your muscles quickly. I think it's an interesting idea - especially for the older athletes who need better recovery strategies.
