The 59-year-old woman who died after falling 40ft from a zip line course in Delaware was completing the challenge as part of her bucket list.

Tina Werner fell from a platform along the Go Ape course in Lums Pond State Park at around 1.40pm on Wednesday.

Paramedics treated her at the scene and performed CPR as she was transported to hospital, but she later died of her injuries.

Werner's daughter, Melissa Slater, took to Facebook to pay tribute to her mum saying: 'My mom died completing her bucket list, zip lining in Newark.'

'Full of love and adventure, I am thankful to be her daughter.

She continued: 'During this time, I seek to understand God's purpose. I want to take this opportunity to remind you that we never know when we are no longer on this earth.'

She added: 'This is truly the hardest situation that I have ever faced. I ask for you prayers for my family.'

It is not known how Werner fell from the platform, and the accident is still under investigation by park officials and state police, 6ABC reports.

So she fell off the platform, not from killing. Sad, but why is this news?

The bad thing about this place is you go without a guide. You are responsible for hooking yourself up to the cables. That is really dangerous if you're a novice. I went extreme ziplining in Hocking Hills and let me tell you... I was terrified! No way would I have done that without a guide. No way in Hell! ugh! Very sad.

Oh it is if you've never done this before.  I've done it and I still wouldn't do it without a guide.  They kept me going because I was ready to quit after the 3rd zip.  I was terrified!  I read that at this Go Ape zip line that they give you a 10 minute talk and show you what to do.  Where I went they explained everything and got you all hooked up and then we piled in a jeep to the first platform.  2 guides went with us and we had a group of 10.  No way I would have done it without them.  I was a big, crying baby!  lol!  It's kind of funny looking back.  I was never so happy as I was on the last zip when I landed on solid ground.  The pic we took of our group at the end is priceless!  We were so happy (it was over) and so full of adrenaline.  It was great.

This is the one I did and some of the platforms were 100ft high. It was beautiful though.

Could not pay me to zip line. No way in hell. Even if the forest was on fire & it was my only way out.

I did it when we went to Dominican Republic. Flying through the trees was so cool. It was a blast!

Please don't do that. Everyone needs to remember t hat the US has great safety requirements for any activity. We, as American, get comfortable and forget the world does not share our obsessiveness with safety regulations. The Dominican is awful for safety.

I'd love to go ziplining. I'm sure I won't meet the regulations though.
