DH likes gala. I think I received some honeycrisps from the veggie guy, but I haven't tried them yet. Thought I might bake them in the pressure cooker.
Just put one in the fridge for about 15 minutes and slice it up.
It's soooo good.

I love apples! I like pink lady, mac, cortland, and red delicious. I make apple pie jam using granny smiths because they are more tart and can stand up to all that sugar. For apple pie jam, use a standard apple jam recipe but instead of 5 cups of white sugar, sub 2 of those with light brown sugar and add the pie spices to the jam pot. I usually just add cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. It comes out darker in color but once people taste it, they do not care! Apple pie jam on hot, buttered toast is almost better than sex. DW loves it over vanilla ice cream. Get your insulin pumps ready!
We had people coming up all the time to gather and pick apples.
Apple blossoms have the best smell.
