I just had a long walk with the dog. Long mostly because I know so many of the dog owners in the hood that I stopped and chatted with many of them. It seems as though most people are outside today, just puttering around their yards. The old saying is true "you get to know your neighbors through your kids and pets" or however it goes. One of the neighbors on another street invited us back later today. They have a pool and fenced yard. Sonny loves going there because he gets to be off his leash and run around.
I have a few errands to do that won't take too long so I think I will go back.
Today is so relaxing.

Spent yesterday morning at work. Then the afternoon/early evening shopping with the girls. Then I spent the rest of my evening sitting in my cousin's car in a parking lot watching the fire department battle a burning building. We were driving through town when I saw the smoke, so we pulled over to see what was happening. We were there for hours, it was facinating. The building is a total loss. It used to be a hospital and then an antique mall. Everything had been closed up and the building for sale for months. No injuries.
It was weird, we used to have our Girl Scout meetings there in one of the rooms they rented. My cousin and I were in the same troop. We were watching a part of our childhood literally go up in smoke.
Today I'm trying to have a lazy day. Have to work tomorrow, so trying to get at least some rest time in. Watching Hallmark mysteries
My dad bought a new car yesterday. They pick it up next week. Well, he had just filled the tank of the car getting traded in. So he's decided he needs to use up the gas.
I thought we were just going to dinner. I was told dinner. I am now hostage in the back seat of a Cruz on his gas using adventure.

bummer! I know you are his child but you are an adult too. I believe he owes you an apology for not telling you. He probably wanted to have fun on his last long drive in the car and wanted you to be part of it. Total fail though.

I did get dinner first. And my mom kind of apologized. I said I have a soda and a full battery, I'm good. For now.
I currently have no idea where we are. Neither does my mother. I think my dad has a faint idea, maybe.
DG, your dad sounds adventurous, lol. My dad was taking me somewhere once and we went the longggggg way because he didn't feel like making any left turns.
He is a bit adventurous. One time he decided to try a new way home from his brother's. Seriously, none of us knew where we were. It took almost twice as long to get home and we wouldn't be able to retrace the route if we tried.
DG, I think I would like your dad. My dad would have done the same thing, lol.
So far, we have enjoyed a very lazy and relaxing weekend. This is our one holiday weekend of the year where we make no plans to go anywhere or do anything if we can help it.
I slept in until 10:00!
The barn dance was a lot of fun last night. The grand's enjoyed it tremendously.
Q125 is the celebration of our towns 125th anniversary of it's founding.

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
I've never been to a barn dance. I think I will put that on my bucket list.
I've had a tough few weeks for reasons I cannot talk about. Had a wonderful conversation with a friend, unexpectedly, tonight. Put things back into perspective. All I can say is it is sad when people you relied on, interacted with, your whole life let you down.
