DEAR AMY: You responded to “Mystified” that a person could rent goats to mow their lawn, if they are eco-friendly. This option is not eco-friendly, as it takes more gasoline to transport the goats to and from your property than it does to mow your own lawn with a gas mower.
Eco-Conscious
DEAR CONSCIOUS: I live next door to a large flock of sheep. They occasionally leap over their fence to do some mowing and flower eating on my lawn. I’m grateful that they provide their own transportation.

The local nature center here has rented goats to eat some invasive species taking over the park. The goats are held in a very large area by electric fence and they chomp on the plants all day.

A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
A local town that had poison ivy on 2 acres of it's parks brought in goats, rented them, for one day. Those goats ate all the poison ivy. Renting goats to keep vegetation under control is a "thing".
