OK, i have had a set of Cuisnart stainless steel pans since we got married. I really like them and i do like cooking in stainless steel. Now i was browsing Amazon and they have a new set of Multiclad stainless and the French Classic Set. The French Classic set is actually made in France and looks beautiful but pretty pricey for a 10 pc set at like $289. For the Multiclad triply it is $214 for a 12 piece set. The diff is that these pans actually heat up the sides versus my chef's classic ones with the round bottom that really only heats from the bottom.
I have calphalon. I use the ones that aren't non-stick. I don't think they even sell them anymore. Bought them 16 years or so ago, at least. I would love to cook with stainless. Before calphalon I had the cheap copper bottom revere ware. They were great, too. If I ever decide to replace the calphalon I would probably try AllClad. But really, the calphalon are great and in good shape (I never put them in the dishwasher). I also have le crueset dutch oven and baking dishes in the french blue.
I just bought two new calphalon pans for $45 at BB&B. They can go in the oven so even if I toss them in a couple years, they were worth the cost. I will buy a whole new matching set when I retire and move to my beach house.

I have heavy stainless. I've had it over 20 years. Paid a bundle but well worth it. I do keep a teflon skillet for eggs and other things that need something super non stick. I want a le crueset dutch oven!

Add it to your SS list.

I have a lovely set of copper bottom, stainless pots.
Glass bakewear. Pyrex, Corning.
Assorted iron skillets.
Most of it was gifted down to me.
I've added some ceramic pieces as they are easier for me to handle now.
I'll probably hand it all down some day.

I tried cast iron. It was just too heavy for my wrists. Cooks great no question. And, i didn't like cleaning it so I switched to SS which i now prefer.

I have to say, almost everyday I appreciate the women who in old times used cast iron for everything. I do not have their strength.

I use my SS for pretty much all my cooking. Except when i make an omelet or eggs, then i have a nice nonstick pan. Or, toasted cheese as well. I see no reason to get an enameled dutch oven becauase i can just put my stock pot in the oven.
I did just buy a 5. 5 qt skillet. Love the size of that!

I have Kirkland Signature’s Stainless Steel Cookware Set (Costco’s brand) and I love them! I have had them for about 8 years and they are still holding up wonderfully.
