I know, being that you are a lawyer, that you probably already thought of this, but don't forget a sign at the fenced entrance along the lines of "Entry and use of this equipment is at your own risk. Children, you must get permission from, and be accompanied by, your parents."
As well as an hours available and rules for use sign.
Probably in a month. It will take 3 weeks for the stuff to come in, and I have to coordinate with the fence company and security company to get the fence and gate locks installed.

Woot! Pictures before during and after should be done! I wonder if your park has a website that you can dedicate a little corner to the project? We did this on a local park org that I sometimes do the website stuff for and folks liked seeing the updates.

WE are an HOA, not a public park. I like the idea of doing pictures to commemorate.

If the kids in the neighborhood could put their hand and/or foot prints in cement, kind of a cool reminder.
Ooo... a time capsule would be cool, too.

I was thinking more like a sitting area or a place for sidewalk chalk art.

I'm not sure where you think we're going to lay cement. We are putting benches inside the fence, and probably a table, but there will be no new cement. Even the path is going to be natural.

I get what Lily is saying. When I had my deck re done had to put a cement stair at the bottom of a long deck stair way for support. DD and I put our hand prints in the cement. Love it still! Perhaps a walkway in cement up to the gate and the neighborhood kids could put their hand prints their?

No. There are 145 homes in the nieghborhood. Some kids wouldn't be able to come or their parents would miss the notice, or whatever, and they would get "excluded", and we'd have to hear the whining. Besides the crotchety old people that would. Complain about the uneven concrete. Just not a good idea.

I get the whiny crap! But that is when you sell cement pavers and anyone who wants to participate and pay the $30 to sponsor one and have their family name or hand prints in their square. That is how we paved the walkway to our library.

LL, kudos to you for taking this project on! It looks awesome! You've done a fabulous job.
IKWTDS, our library did this. The bricks were put up on the walls in the entrance / lobby to the library and then further inside. The bricks were engraved with the name of the person donating and then sealed before being installed. It's a great idea to raise funds.
I went and saw it today! It's almost complete! They just have to secure the mulch border tomorrow. They had it in today, but they need longer screws to secure it. The mulch smelled sooooo good. It's Kid safe cyprus hardwood - should help with bugs.
