Saw this on the Goggle news today and am not sure just exactly "invigorate cooperation" means. Guess I have been out of the US too long. Could anyone enlighten me on exactly what this means? Thanks....
The United States and China agreed to invigorate cooperation in the United Nations Security Council after North Korea's fifth nuclear test and also said they would strengthen cooperation on law enforcement channels, the White House said in a statement.
China and the United States have started discussions on a possible U.N. sanctions resolution in response to the test earlier this month, U.N. diplomats had said.

I'm sure you understand the statement is just political rhetoric, written to make you not want to think about the meaning except for the world is not falling apart.

I pretty much got that. There seems to be a lot of this kind of language around lately. If I recall correctly it started in the Vietnam era when Time Magazine reporters started using words in new meanings, even making up new words at times, to deal with the Vietnam War...
It's the same as when Democrats and Republicans say "We'll compromise" while really meaning "We'll only do it if we do it OUR way". Basically the same gridlock we have in Congress can now be seen, and has now been admitted to, in the UN.
