He got to bogged down on the defensive. Like about supporting the Iraq war. He wasted 8 min on that. Call Hannity etc. He came out of the gate well. But he let them define the questions while he expla6himself. He should have attacked her record hard
Let's see. Birthers, tax returns, Russian email hacking, stop and frisk, equal pay for women. Lester, do you really think these the questions America cares about?

I have to agree I loved her comeback on the issue of equal pay for women. Apparently she believes that women should get equal pay without actually doing equal work, since she made the accusation that Donald said "Women don't deserve equal pay unless they're doing as good a job as men are" (or something to that effect). If he said that. I agree with it. I think most if not everyone here agrees with it. Is she saying she doesn't agree with it?
If Trump will melt down and self-destruct in a simple debate, how on earth s he going to manage to be the Commander in Chief?
He lost his cool early and often.

Huh? What debate were you watching? He was trying to answer all the stupid questions that Holt asked. Yes, he should have redirected those questions and attacked Hillary instead. But, if you want to ignore 30 yrs of corruption because she stood on a stage and smirked for an hour as evidence of being Presidential, then I guess that is your criteria.
BTW, Donald had microphone problems. It didn't show on TV but he said it was cutting in and out during the debate. That would also be very distracting. Dems are always pulling schit.
I didn't see or even hear of any meltdowns. Are you sure you weren't watching old footage of something else, dona?
Interestingly, yesterday as I drove home, I listen to WMAL, conservative talk radio. On my commute home, is Michael Savage. Yes, he's a bit of a loon, much like Rush. Over the top. But......he was telling his listeners that he was pre-empted on a major radio station in NYC when he began to voice his views about the debate, and in particular, Hillary's health, once he started naming the side effects of a drug used to treat Parkinson's. He was replaced by a couple of guys who were bashing Trump and declaring they overtook Savage. Then, when he started to mention the drug again, WMAL went off the air for about 20 seconds. Then when it came back on, it was a previous Savage episode where he was talking about art. Completely irrelevant. About 10 minutes later, he came back on, and said he went to another studio he has (he has three within a 2 mile radius) because his broadcast was cut off in almost all stations where he is heard. He wasn't sure how long he would be able to talk until he was cut off again, but he did manage to list a few of the side effects of the drug, Levodopa before his show ended at its usual time.
There was certainly something going on that the mainstream media did not want us to hear.
Trump supporters take Trump seriously, but not literally.
That is a very astute observation. We know what Trump is saying to us and what he means. We know that he is a man who can get things done. We know he can be brash and bluster. He isn't a politician. We get it. They can't see the forest through the trees.
My final say on the debates: Hillary Clinton, NOT releasing your 33,000 classified emails that you sent on an illegal private server and then DELETED when you realized they were going to be subpoenaed, does NOT make you "transparent" or "honest". It makes you a lying, criminal traitor, and in my mind it disqualifies you from becoming the Commander In Chief.

Most successful businessmen didn't get that way by being nice.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
I posted this in response to a friend's post who is adamant about supporting Hillary:
I understand your opinion. I certainly wish there was an alternative, but there isn't, it's Trump or Hillary. But just as you can't bring yourself to vote for someone who needs a filter, I cannot bring myself to vote for someone as corrupt and as dishonest as Hillary Clinton. This country is in dire need of a shake up in our political system, a vote for Hillary is a vote for the same old, same old and will only lead to worse things for our Country than we have seen in the past 16+ years. A vote for Trump is at least a means to let our politicians know, we as citizens, mean business and we want their corruption gone and no more backroom deals, no more PORK. He can, at the least, create jobs and keep us as safe as a President can from Illegal's entering this Country with no punishment and all the crime it brings and costs to our society. He will be a leader with our foreign counter parts while not looking for donations to a family "charitable" fund to cut deals.
Not one intelligent response, all were insults, etc. From the same people who say they hate Trump for his insults. The irony is not lost on me.BTW my friend only responded with a "let's agree to disagree" and the offensive and swear laden responses were from others. No offer up as why Hillary is great, just Trump and IKWTS bashing. And that my friends is the cruxt of the election.

I don't like Donald Trump - I never have. But he has one very, very, very big thing going for him. He is not Hillary Clinton. Her being elected president would be a travesty.

We aren't electing someone to be a person that everyone likes though. We are electing someone to lead our country and be a representative of us to other nations. Is Donald Trump the BEST choice for that? Not in a million years. Is he a better choice then Hillary Clinton? Yes. A million times, yes.
My question... who is it that you think the existing R's in office will have a better chance of working with/controlling/guiding in office. Hate them both equally, but if you are a conservative, you really need to answer that question before November.
My husband met Trump at one of his resorts in Florida before he or anyone else announced their candidacy. My husband and his friends even got their picture taken with him. My husband said he was very approachable and didn't act like he was better than them and even joked with them.
Trump bought and built a country club near me. A lot of our friends from our club left to join Trump. He reduced the initial membership fees and drew in a lot of new members that were previously members elsewhere. It was a smart move and it worked. He would head up member meetings where he would address changes he proposed for the "new" club. Our friends said he was very approachable and the club is now, first rate. They all like him over there.
I also think Trump means well and loves America. I cannot say the same for Hillary.

Agreed. It amazes me that her followers can't see the love fest she has with herself. They can see the love fest Donald has for himself (which even his supporters freely acknowledge) but not Hillary's.
