Hey FWM, I got my car inspected this morning too! Nothing like waiting until the end of the month. My guy couldn't figure out how open my tailgate to get my wheel lock thingy. Then he commented it was because it was such an old model. It's a 2007. I don't think of it as all that old.
We no longer have inspections here. It's the one thing I think should be done.

LOL! Never do today, what can be put off until tomorrow!
Your car is almost new, Lexxy!
Belle is a 2004, that I bought in October of 2003.
I am hoping to get another 10 years out of mine. It has pretty low mileage for the age about 52,000. I know Belle has wracked up plenty of mileage going to visit Ohio so she's a trooper!

Me too, Lexxy!
Belle turns 13 in a couple of weeks, and she only has 115,800 miles on her.
My escort was 16 or 17 years old when I finally traded it in.
I still miss that car.

Inspections are a PITA but it only costs $16. The emissions one required every 2 years is $22. But we do have to pay property tax every October on our cars. Mine is 9 yo & the tax is still $325. That chaps my arse. I payed sales tax when I bought it & now property tax just to own it every year. Grrrrrr.......that is one of my hot buttons.
Lexxy, if it's any consolation, car registration renewal in California costs more than our property taxes & inspections combined. And insurance is cheaper out here, too.
I live in Taxachusetts! Beer, smokes, wine, cars, houses, own a business. It never ends.
We have all the same taxes. But when I was in OC MD I about lost it on the cigarette tax. The store owner told me to drive across the state line into Delaware to save like $3 a pack about 5 years ago so who knows now.

I bitch about registration costs too! But just wow that is outrageous. Of course there is a lot about California that is outrageous.
It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but it is blue.

No inspections here. Smog test required every 2 years. I'm due for it next year, if memory serves. Could be this year. I'll know when the MVD emails me my registration info. Registration is cheap. I think I'm in the $60 range now.
