I have a huge pile of limbs and branches from two tropical storms. Need to burn or haul off. This is my first free weekend in a month. I swear next home will have no yard or come with lawn care. So over big shady yards.

SB, my dad has talked about putting concrete and grass carpet on the yard for as long as I can remember. And there wouldn't be a real tree in sight. Idea maybe?

Need to finish the shopping for food. This year it is a backyard blow out with a DJ and karaoke as long as the rain stays away. I am making comfort food - beef stew, chicken pot pie, mac & cheese, biscuits, cornbread and rolls.

MIL used to make her kids throw her a party every 5 years. But kids only got one every 10.
Got car serviced, picked up a prescription for #2, just to have on hand for our trip, JIC he needs it, and picked up hamster food and bedding. We'll be gone for 4 days. I think the hamsters will be fine as long as I leave lots of water and food. Not leaving them with the neighbor across the street.
Finally know where we are going tonight. A Chinese place she likes.

I'll be there with bells on! It sounds like fun & the menu sounds delicious. The only problem with all that comfort food is guests may fall into a food coma!
For the first time ever, we didn't have any fish to bring
back and clean. The river water was tea-colored, and
you could see your bait all the way down to the river
bed - not good for catching fish. We DID catch
10 alligator gars
3 blue catfish (dead on the hook)
and 1 channel cat, which we threw back.
Most of the shopping is done. I need DH to help me prep/chop the vegetables. Lots of potatoes, carrots, onions and celery. Fortunately both the stew and the pot pie take most of the same vegetables. Borrowing MIL's Instant Pot to help with cooking tomorrow. Tent will be set up tomorrow too.
Got my nails done. First time with a design. The yellow dot is glitter, not yellow. My outfit is black and white with some gray and my B&W cowboy boots.
I have the first fire of the season going, I refuse to turn the heat on. DD and I just made pumpkin cookies. And so this is the official kick off to Fall!

I am so excited. I just found out the girl who lives behind me (who took care of my hamster and didn't lose it) is expecting twins! Her son was born a month after my boys and they all play together. He spilled the beans to the boys on the bus ride home from school today. I emailed her to confirm. Yep! Babies!!!!!

Wow! That is great. A girl I work with found out this week she is having twins. Her first baby will be 18 months when the twins are born. She said she is scared. Can you imagine? 3 under the age of 2?

There was this shrimp thing, looked ok, but when bit into it, it tasted like bad bait smells. I spit it our instantly and kept rinsing my mouth out, but no way could I eat anything else.
Mom just kept talking about how good the place is. She loves it.

My neighbor is scared, too. Excited, but scared. She is a twin. Her brother had twins (who are now 11). She knows first-hand how much work they are. But she's 27 and has a doting husband who is a very good father to her son. (Bio dad disappeared from the picture when she got pregnant at 18). They live in the guest house on her parents' property. They were living there to save money to get a place of their own. Not sure what they will do now!
