We were eating lunch today & talking about the aftermath of the election. My bff said she was watching some reporter interviewing people on the street & one woman was having a meltdown & saying Trump needs to be impeached. When asked why she said she fears that he will said her & her family back to their country of origin. When asked about her home country she said it was Guam.

So yesterday DD came home from school upset because 1. A kid told her Trump was going to start WW3. She started crying because she thought that meant her dad was going to have to go away and fight and might die (she is a military child and we are currently preparing for an upcoming deployment, so she is a bit sensitive to the subject right now).

2. She explained to me in graphic detail what a late term abortion consists of.

3. Trump is going to 'destroy' our country.

She heard all these things from kids at school. I don't know if people realize that the little ears surrounding them take things literally and then go to school to share their knowledge with friends.

My boys came home yesterday and I asked them if the election results were discussed. They said yes, everyone was sad. Except Grant. (Grant's mother is a diplomat and his father is a civilian employee with the State Dept and they voted Trump-what does that tell you?). And Ryland. And Fabrizio. Once the boys told Fabrizio that his parents weren't going to be shipped off to Turkey since they were here legally.

#1's teacher told me that he tries to keep opinions to a minimum but has used the election and their trip to the Capitol last week as a way to teach them about civics, taking advantage of the children's excitement and passion. I taught them all about the electoral system and they were intrigued.

It is sad the liberal media is using fear to indoctrinate our youth. And adults, for that matter.

Thanks. It's interesting to see how children interpret things though. I mean, I think it's good to talk to your kids about this stuff, but really talk, and make sure they understand. Definitely don't try to scare them if you don't have to.

I had told her in very basic terms what an abortion is a while ago, and have been second guessing if I should have ever since, but I did make it absolutely clear that she was not to tell anyone else, and not to discuss it even if other people brought it up because it's not something that should be talked about in elementary school, imo.

I assume their understanding of why men would to be flawed as well, by the "no offense" directed at me. I look at them like they are from another planet when they say that. I know many women that would be happy to tell them, but alas, I doubt they'd hear anything.
