I did not know but way back when, there was a law that talked about only $750 could be used for the President's car, about $13K today. The FBI was very concerned in the days following the attack about terror attacks on the president but couldn't buy a newer, more secure vehicle. Someone in the Treasury department reminded them they had taken possession of Al Capone's bullet proof car as partial payment on his taxes. The FBI use Al Capone's car to transport FDR.
